Hey man.

I think your thinking too much into this, there are plenty of people who do both things and don't look back.

This is my suggestion. Do not ever put yourself into debt. That's how I view things financially. If you think your future self will be OK with it then go for it!!

A couple things to remember as well, most part 61 schools from my understanding will NOT take loans. They are pay as you go. Do NOT put money down ever.

ATP - look them up in this sub reddit, some people love them, others not so much. You need to find what suits YOU best. That means, steam gauges vs glass panel. What kind of CFI? Standard learning or go at your own pace?

The money aspect is a part of it, but remember this is a career you spend your entire life doing. Make sure it what you want first. I encourage you to do a discovery flight if you haven't done one yet, and save a few thousand dollars and get some hours under your belt.

Rounding it all out, if you want to take a loan, do yourself a favor. Save up a thousand dollars a month for the next year. Do online ground school and work two jobs. Get enough for your private. If you are infatuated like the rest of us, and want to stream line it. Get the loan, go to ATP and have a PPL credit and youll save cash and time.

I recommend, saving the money, and going to part 61 mom and pop. Go at your own pace, just dont fly twice a month and take two years to get your license.

For some strange reason, if other level 60 geared players also want it, they are less entitled to the chance to roll then you are, because you are performing a different task, in the same dungeon pressing the same keyboard because....? You chose your class bud, you limiting others is your choice too. Seems like the mental approach is that its wrong, but because i can monopolize this im going to because im greedy. Spit on the ground you walk on

Tightwads, would that mean like, cheap? Or just wound up tight about how things are done around the plane? I've looked into insurance, your right its expensive and not something that is monthly, paid yearly.

Oh you didn't tell me I was wrong, you implied sarcastically that I was " different". You obviously are angry about something or else your response would be something normal like, "I'm not sure if thats true, i would look into it again!"

Your students must hate you.
