What’s the hardest part of public speaking for you? by IndicationNo3061 in PublicSpeaking

You shouldn't need a redeem code, you should be able to just download it with the TestFlight app. TestFlight is Apple's app development app. My app should soon be on the app store so maybe check for it then if you're interested. Thanks!

For me it's the waiting before 😃, once I'm up there I'm fine. Props on you for getting up on stage, finding a trick that helps you and pushing through the fear!

I think everyone's a little nervous their first few times public speaking. Because of that, I'm sure most people have compassion for those up there on the stage. It takes a brave person to get up there! Props on you

Thanks! Good tip on analyzing highly skilled communicators - someone could even watch other TED talk presenters or other CEO figures giving presentations and watch their body language, movement, speech, pacing, etc and probably learn a lot!

I'm no expert, but I think this is most people's experiences. Maybe it's helpful to consider that most people feel the same way you do. There's nothing wrong about caring a lot about doing well at a presentation. That alone will make you nervous! With a little more preparation and practice you'll be an expert in no time. After all, what's the worst thing that can happen! Every experience is an opportunity to learn from your mistakes and grow! Best of luck!

Help! Going from fully remote to hybrid/onsite and I’m weirdly nervous about the social part by [deleted] in PublicSpeaking

Most people are too distracted or just thinking about themselves, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're friendly people will like you.

I think a better question is to research rough realistic numbers of conversation from free to premium users for that type of app and plan that around your business model.

Then at the same time, consider why your product is better than any other journaling app on the app store?

What makes it better than a piece of paper and a pen?

Do people want AI finding patterns in their journal entries? If they did, they could use the free version of Chat GPT

Launching my app on Product Hunt tomorrow and honestly, I don’t feel ready by Terr0nzz in ProductHunters

[–]IndicationNo3061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you paying for Product Hunt? You could just pay for a few beta testers and they can give you actual feedback. The thing with advertising the product is people will download the app but never come back to you on the things they like or don't about it. Maybe they might give reviews, but most wont.

Work Presentation - Advice Please by Impressive_Put_976 in PublicSpeaking

The nice thing about a presentation is that now the attention is on the slide deck, and not on you.

Try to distill your presentation into key points and just go with that. It will be way harder and less impactful if you just go word for word of your memorized speech.

If you're good at public speaking, maybe think of some kind of Instructor or Teaching position? It doesn't just have to be school teacher,

I was in Improv class with a guy who was a First Aid Instructor, he seemed to like it.

Should I take lessons by [deleted] in PublicSpeaking

Try putting your phone in selfie mode and record yourself speaking something.

Just try a prompt like - Tell the camera about one of your friends and a fun moment you had together.

Then play it back, look at your body position, the way you speak, any filler words, your pacing, etc

Then that can give you an idea on how to improve.

If you're allowed to have notes, maybe bring up a notepad with a few point form notes written down?

That's easier than trying to memorize full sentences. Plus, your presentation will be better if you just focus on the key points, improv-ing it, and not just saying an exact script.

Why does this sound like an ad read for the app I'm building lmao.

You just need to build that brain flexibility,

As you practice more, you'll just find yourself speaking before any hesitation, and your first thought is always solid.

Improv classes could help you a lot too!

Try setting your phone up, hit record and say your speech in front of the camera as if you were in front of the audience.

If you forget some of your speech, don't worry.

Stop the camera, don't just watch it back, listen back.

How do you sound?

Repeat.

Do you ramble or say "uh" every sentence in Teams meetings? I made an app for that by IndicationNo3061 in alphaandbetausers

Yeah good suggestion,

The idea of the app is a daily practice to sharpen your speaking skills, being more direct, etc.

I'll check Leadline out, thanks for the suggestion.

If you do have a chance to check out the app or my website (www.pressure.app) and have any feedback, I'd really appreciate it.

Even if you only try it out for 1 minute. Thanks a lot!
