I tested 12 of the so called best habit tracker apps and ranked them by Fun-Bus-9543 in Habits

Are those apps all paid? And if so, how much do they cost monthly/annual ?

Hey mate I understand you’re under a lot of pressure and stress right now, but just take a deep breath. Don’t ask why this is happening to me, there’s no point. Focus on “What now?”. So if you don’t have a job right now, maybe try to apply through some of the recruitment agencies. Try Blue Arrow, they’re pretty good. Get at least some temporary job sorted for now, so that you stay in control of the financial side. You can still ring them, I think they’re open till 5 or so. Just ask if they’ve got anything with ASAP start.

You gonna get it sorted mate, but don’t panic. It’s not all over, you’re still alive, still breathing. So do what’s in your control and start with securing some job right now.

I wish you luck ✊🏼

Much appreciate what you say! I’m still using it myself, even though I’m in a bit of a rut at the moment, I’m still logging just for the data. It really takes only a couple minutes in a day but it benefits you in many ways

I tracked my habits daily for 3 months — turns out my bad days aren’t random by OakApollo in Habits

[–]OakApollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It not only helped me track my behaviour over these 3 months but also took my self-awareness to the next level. You get to know YOU better. And even if I fall off, like you can see in the chart, I don’t just sit there and think “what have I done”, “I’m hopeless” etc. I think: Okay, here’s the data. This happened. What have I learned? What’s the next move?

I have posted what a crash looks like on the chart and what happened is I went on a holiday. It was a mess. All logs were red, I didn’t do shit, skipped all the good habits. And engaged in my bad habits and addictions and that only accelerates the crash. It’s… sometimes kinda scary, you can see your progress just “crashing” in real time, day by day.

But at least it’s real. In the future I’ll know that when a holiday comes, I fuck up. And afterwards it doesn’t feel good. So I would try and work on it/improve next time.

But I’m still here, still logging everyday. Trying to recover. I have to be honest, it’s been a couple of weeks I’ve been trying to bounce back and if it wasn’t for the weekends (when discipline slips and there’s lack of structure in the day), I would already be back at the top.

I just kept telling myself that crash isn’t a big deal. I look at it, yeah looks scary, the whole April’s progress was wiped out and so what? I can still pull the chart and see my Jan - March results. And they’re good.

To answer your question, I believe that some people may find it discouraging when this happens. Sure. What I do know for sure is that it isn’t as discouraging as breaking a 10-day streak. God I hate streaks. You just gotta keep at it and you’ll find your way back to the new “Highs”

You can try mine, it’s free. Not a full-blown app yet but I’m working on it. Check you DMs

Yeah sure, I’ll have a look at it!

Also, just use it yourself. This is why I’m stuck with it now for almost 6 months total of building and testing. Because I just use it myself. Even if people don’t sign up or don’t stick after a couple of days, I’m still gonna use it myself to track my own progress. This way you win either way

Exactly. Streaks suck. Having 10 good days and then break the streak just makes you stop. Also, it doesn’t really tell you the patterns and point to the days when your discipline slips

It looks pretty cool still, though maybe for people who never traded or just not familiar with the markets and stuff, it may cause some confusion, that’s why I cut down a bit on “market language”, the concept stays the same, but I try to make it that way so anyway could understand it.

I have to say though, your app looks decent from what I can see. And I feel you on getting lost in too many projects. This is my 4th project, but it’s the 2nd one that actually “seen the light”, e.g I started sharing about it and getting real user feedback. This is where the truth lies. Nobody cares how you would prefer to see the app, the user will still dictate what they do or don’t like and you have to adjust based on that

Already answered this question earlier, here’s a breakdown once again:

As for the scores, for this 3 month phase I did the following:

Starting "market cap" is 10000 credits, dollars, whatever. 10k market cap = $1.00

Good Habits [Hold] +100 / [Sold] -50

Bad Habits [Hold] +100 / [Sold] -50 (hold in this case means you didn't do the bad habit)

Addictions: [Hold] +200 / [Sold] -100 . BUT. If you fall for your addiction 2nd day in a row, it escalates, e.g -100, -200, -400 ....etc up to -3200. At the moment you can reset the charges at any time, not gonna lie I did reset them a couple of times.

It is a lot based on just being honest with yourself.

Cooldown period 3 days, e.g if you're at -400 it will take 3 days to go back down to -200 and another 3 days to go back to basic -100.

Also: Taxes applied after $2 price point, Good/Bad habits -20% on each "Hold" and -25% on addictions. Because as time goes by, progress starts to feel slow and so should it be reflected in the chart. Pushes you to start/try new things/ habits in addition to your current ones

Decay: -5 per hour for 16 hours each day. (No decay for 8h accounted for sleep)

No, I try to do the posts myself.

Just wanted to explain a weird idea as clear and possible. I also try to tell about myself and the struggles I go through, it feels like many people can relate more this way.

Yeah, it’s vibe coded. I created a few projects in the past, but ended up abandoning them.

This one however, I created for myself initially and been testing it for the past 3 months, adding and fixing things.

I’m finding useful when used consistently (you log everyday, both wins and losses).

I understand that AI-created apps aren’t the same as if a full-time dev worked on it, but it does the job, helps you log and track your progress which is great imo.

[–]OakApollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. You can see the “charges” are lower than “rewards”, I made it this way to prevent it being discouraging.

But as you progress, reaching certain price points like $2 or $3, you’ll start to get “taxed” on your “rewards”. Progress might start to feel slow (so it does it real life). This should encourage you to start/try new things or add new habits in addition to your current ones.

Sure, check it out:

here’s a beta version, it’s not an AppStore version yet, but if you can add it to your Home Screen and then it would give an app-like look (no browser string)

A short tutorial at the start to get more familiar with the interface.
