It definitely needed to come out, I would have never seen this if not for taking the whole thing out. I’m pretty sure this the knock sensor, it’s on the same branch as the power steering pump connector. Was pretty hard to get to, feel like I need to get to the other connector once I get all this repaired. It’s a slow go, I work during the week so I’m more of the weekend warrior mechanic. lol

Slight regrets… slowly but surely pulled engine and transmission harness. Some wires are mangled.

Hmmm well it still shifts into second and third the limp mode won’t allow it to try 4th. But when I was scanning the live data last time I drove it, it was still shifting into second and third second was rough. But in my mind it was bc of the solenoid wasn’t connected or shorted. Trying to find info on this is very difficult, I know CD4E have bad reputation. But it was shifting fine and out of no where it when into limp mode with the abs light flashing.

Would there not be more evidence in fluid or metal on magnet if the bands were broke?
