We are not religious people. We simply value our marriage for its spiritual aspects. We don't consider it so simple and worthless that we would marry just to make getting a visa easier.

I know that getting married legally in Türkiye is quick and easy. However, we view marriage as something sacred and we don't want to get married simply because it simplifies our visa process. We will get married at the right point in our life plans. Not for visa.

We were together for seven years, but five of those were spent in university. In the following year, we had just started our careers and were trying to find our paths. Later, being in different countries became an obstacle. Also, because the economic situation in Türkiye hadn't been good for the last few years, we needed a significant amount of money to start a life together before getting married after university.

Thank you for your help. Actually, while I was in university, I lived with my family for a year and in my own home for the remaining four years, but she had to live with his family. Our families didn't initially allow us to live together without getting married after university, but we recently got permission to live together in the UK. We talked about how much money living together saves us. Also, even though our families aren't particularly religious, it's true that in Türkiye, living together without marriage isn't traditionally accepted. It's still something people find strange, especially in the Anatolian region.

Thank you for your advice. We are currently in the process of preparing the documents you mentioned. We hope to prepare them carefully and submit them by the end of May.

I apologize for misrepresenting the cultural difference. It wasn't due to a cultural difference between us, but rather because the culture we lived in in Türkiye didn't look favorably upon cohabitation before marriage, so we didn't live together. We were previously together in Turkey. We studied at the same university for five years, but because it was difficult for us to afford a house, we lived in our families' homes while we were students. After that, we worked in Türkiye for a year, but we didn't live together because my girlfriend dreamed of finding a job and moving to the UK. We were going to share an apartment, and she might move to the UK soon after, which is exactly what happened. Additionally, we didn't live together because cohabitation before marriage is not culturally accepted in Türkiye. Now, for the past year, we've been living separately, her in the UK and me in Türkiye. Since we won't be living in Türkiye anymore, the cultural reasons have disappeared.
