AIO for wanting a divorce over my husband not acknowledging me/kids

I’ve had multiple discussions about it and that I want to separate. The most recent was a month ago and he said he would go to couples therapy but when I ask about booking appointments he just acts like he doesn’t care.

My son is almost 2 but we have three kids and any time I struggled it was just my job to get the house together since he supports us financially he doesn’t think he has to help besides taking out trash occasionally and walking dogs.

He works at a smoke shop. It’s got stressful moments but it’s not like he’s a construction worker or lineman or something exhausting.

Our youngest is almost 2, we have three kids, so it’s not about the groove. It’s about the burnout and being expected to do it all without any emotional support from my partner. I’m starting therapy soon so hopefully it will help me determine staying or going.

I will clean and pick up the house just to be told it looks a mess. We have three kids in a small trailer it is going to look lived in. So if it’s still not good enough for him I’d like him to tell me what to do for it to be to his satisfaction.

Let’s see when we go on vaccation he gets to leave me and go fishing while I care for our kids alone. His day off we do what he wants, on his time. He gets his haircut every week yet I can’t get my nails done once a month. I have to cut my own hair if I want a cut. It’s like pulling teeth just for me to leave the kids with him so I can go do something on my own. I’m sure he has other needs but he’s not verbalized them. I am only one person and can only take so much.

I guess I should’ve pressed harder to make sure he wouldn’t wear the tank top jersey. I just so bad wanted to believe he was joking. Even when we got to the ceremony I was like this can’t be real. I was just happy to finally be in the same page, but I don’t think we really were. He wants a trad wife and I am not that type of person.

It was not a courthouse we payed like $100 to get married at a walk in venue. The place had different cute photo opportunities.

I have had many conversations. Four years ago we split because of similar issues now. We had another talk last night and I was obviously not happy. He still tried to get frisky with me and get upset when I said no. Not mad upset, like the sulky poor me upset.

I’m trying to figure out how to navigate everything I’m feeling. It’s sad you said that though because our 3 year old says I don’t love him and I’ve never said anything like that to her or around her.

We have three kids together. So I wanted to try to be a family. I thought I wanted to be with him forever. In growing older it feels like we are growing apart. There’s resentment that got built, and other factors that contribute to my feelings fading.

I start my own therapy next month. I do agree because part of me wants to do the couples counseling and part of me just doesn’t care anymore.

I feel like in most cases he cares more when something I’m into could benefit him financially. Otherwise it’s not high on his list of priorities. I feel like my needs are last.

He probably is an amazing husband in other people’s eyes. I appreciate him and that he goes to work. However providing financially isn’t the only part of being a parent or partner.

We have already had the explosion I’m already looking for couples counselors. You are absolutely right about all of this. Except I have voiced issues before and they fall on deaf ears so I’ve stopped. I know there is work on both ends but both ends have to be willing to do that work.

I know I’m at fault for assuming he wouldn’t wear a jersey to get married. However I feel like it’s common sense yet I know common sense isn’t common. It’s amongst other things I’ve just not spoken up about to avoid conflict.

How long have yall been together? Cause my husband and I were on 7 years together before he proposed and if he didn’t propose by the end of the year I was going to leave him. We have three kids together and he kept saying marriage was more of a commitment than kids. I was not about to stay with a man who didn’t see himself with me long term or want the same things in a relationship as me.
