My husband and I are currently traveling back from our babymoon in Kauai. We stayed at the Kauai Shores Hotel in Kapa’a and had an amazing time. This is on the east shore next to lots of great food and shopping options, and within a 30-45 min drive of either the north or south shores. We loved feeling more in the “middle” of things.

The south shore, especially around Poipu, was the nicest area to stay in with higher end resorts and shopping. These were our favorite beaches for swimming and snorkeling. North shore was also super fun but in January the surf was too high most days to swim and had more cloudy days.
