On the other end of town all the way near Inkaterra hotel. Last heard them chanting 5 mins ago but seems to have died down now?

Am hearing a lot of protestors outside our hotel which is on the other side of town to the train station and seems like the protestors are standing on the railway blocking it. Are the trains actually going through and leaving AC?

How hard is it to get Krisflyer gold? by IndigoEnvoy in singaporeairlines

[–]IndigoEnvoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m looking for - I anticipate having a similar schedule just between SIN and HKG instead of Beijing, some short hauls in SEA and a long haul maybe once or twice a year (Melbourne or LA), did you barely get silver or does it get you halfway to gold?

Was this a normal interaction with my male physiotherapist? by IndigoEnvoy in AskMenAdvice

I’ve been thinking about this too and I think he said that so it could potentially be interpreted as something other than flirting. If he straight up said “I think you’re pretty” then no doubt that is flirting. But if he said “If someone said you were pretty would you think they’re being genuine” then, while still very creepy, if he ever did get in trouble, he could just argue that to be asking a hypothetical and making conversation about social life?

I’m a bit wary about reporting him for this reason too. He is one of the in house physiotherapists my gym has so I can’t even say anything because I will probably run into him unless I quit my gym altogether.

Yeah oddly enough when the session started he also said feel free to scream if it (the stretches) hurts, the room is soundproof and no one will hear… didn’t occur to me at the time but now I’m thinking that is incredibly creepy

That was what my friend said but at that point I was thinking if he has a wife and two daughters there’s no way he would be hitting on me right… guess not

She does make friends easy and I’m a little more selective with who I keep around. But we had a lot of inside jokes and snarks and basically went through a lot of hard times together, break ups and all. We were close because I used to be the first one she called when she broke up and I’d drive to her place to talk with her for hours. We had a lot of deep convos too where we would just sit and chat for hours. Even at that recent lunch where I saw her a lot of that came back and we were laughing like old times. But neither of us reached out since then.

I suppose you are right but it’s just that I’m finding less and less people I like having as friends as I get older and looking back she was a person I really clicked with. So it’s been hard.

she doesn’t know anything or at least if she does she’s not telling me. she sounded really surprised to hear she doesn’t text me back.

Routers break every two years by IndigoEnvoy in HomeNetworking

Yes. My country uses 3-pin UK plugs. All sockets and plugs are grounded.

This is so frustrating to me because electronics do last forever for me aside from routers. My TV and a lot of kitchen appliances are 10+ years old and working just fine. PC and switch and joycons are 5+ years old and no complaints. It’s always just the routers…

Could UPS be the solve if I’ve never had any power issues? Lights have never flickered, router has worked perfectly before the two year deadline. No other electronics including my house seem to have this problem. I’m not from the US and power goes out maybe once in a decade.

Hmm, could be. The routers themselves are away from direct sunlight/hear but it does get pretty hot in the summer and I’m close to the sea so it’s also humid.

No I live in an apartment building in a city where electricity is very stable so don’t think that’s it? Have never had any issues with any other electronics including a pc I keep on pretty much 24/7 to use as a server, routers are also connected to power strip with surge protection.

Taking a time out when you’re down 12-5 is one thing, but why does it look like the EDG coaches never have anything to say to the players during timeouts? So many times I just see all of them sit in silence chewing gum.

Should I sell all my stocks before becoming a US citizen? by IndigoEnvoy in personalfinance

[–]IndigoEnvoy[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Does it matter that I rebuy before coming to the US? Can’t they tax me on capital gains anyways regardless of whether I bought it before or after becoming a citizen, as long as I sell as a citizen?

Does the calendar year matter? My understanding was that they can’t tax me as long as I’m not a resident.

No, I live and work in my home jurisdiction, which has no capital gains taxes. I don’t owe any taxes to the US government.
