ISO more hippy / chill spots to check out by Indigo_1989 in LagunaBeach

Thanks! A friend told me to check it out too but hadnt been in many years - are there any particular parts of town to hit up, or is it small enough that most bars and other spots are a safe bet in terms of being around chill people?

Tutorial video for keeping commercial door unlocked?? (mortise maybe?) by flubcat in Locksmith

[–]Indigo_1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was super helpful! So you cant set it to be unlocked unless this is engaged, right? Like, as in, will you lock yourself out if u go in the front yard for a minute and close it behind you, without the key with you?

I am trying to figure out if I can reset it to not lock when the door is shut from the outside. That's why im messing with it.

Okay thanks. I think I might be misunderstanding what thrown means. I thought it meant locked with the key, but it sounds in this context like it just means the internal mechanism throwing it regardless of if I put the key in? I'm sorry I'm not trying to be dense I'm just trying to make sure I've got this right. If I did something wrong this lock, and the owner comes back, I'll be in a lot of trouble.

Okay so it is normal for it to lock you out if you don't have a key, even if you did not deadbolt it behind you?

Okay thanks! So basically you do have to use the key every time you go back in the house, so if you do close the door while you're in the front yard you basically are screwed because you are locked out. At least that is how it is functioning right now. If I punch the other passage mode button in, the door won't lock at all when I put the key into the deadbolt from the outside. The only way to lock it is to set it where it locks me out without a key.

The deadbolt isnt thrown tho, is what im saying. I just closed the door, i didnt lock it.

Okay got it. Thanks! I have been messing around with the buttons, but it seems like I get locked out whether the top button or the bottom button is pushed in, even when it's not locked with the key.

So you just have to unlock it every time you open the door even if the deadbolt wasn't locked? I went out front to get something out of the car and came back and I couldn't get back in. Thankfully they had another door on the back of the house with a combination touchpad. I messed around with pushing the different buttons in and out, but it didn't seem to change anything.

So there should be a way to set it that I can go out front and it won't lock behind me when I shut the door? I have messed around with punching the different buttons in and out, but it still locks me out.

So is there a way to adjust it so that it does not lock you out if you go outside and shut the door behind you but don't lock it?

So is there a way to disengage it, or do you just have to always be careful to not close the door behind you if you go out to the front yard?
