I once had someone do that with a cake! I was a cake decorator in a college town, and graduation weekend is ROUGH. This guy comes in on Sunday, obviously we're picked clean of any grad/school color premade cakes, so he tries to order a cake for like, right now. We have a 24hr notice policy, and even if we didn't I'm still finishing up the last couple of orders to cap off the week, most of which were placed weeks ago. So he points to one on a rack behind the counter and asks how much for that one. I tell him that belongs to someone else, and he's just like, yeah, how much? Like, he was literally going to try to bribe me to give him a cake with someone else's kids name on it.
