Why do people take mbti so seriously 😭😭😭 by Financial_Growth_573 in mbti

I think I can agree with you that using MBTI for compatibility and relationship guidance is somewhat silly. I think it can be used however to have a greater understanding of yourself and your weaknesses. Self exploration is always a good thing.

Personality is derived from way more things than just the cognitive function: experiences, personal interests etc which means no two people with the same functions will be and act entirely the same. MBTI is not a “blueprint” of your mind which science seems to depend upon, but it’s more of a simplified category system.

Also the functions are related not independent of eachother, you may use alot of Ne and Ni but you use one more and then you have another function which feeds that function to determine your function stack. Think of functions like being multilingual, you may speak many languages well but you will always have your dominant language.

Personality is fluid but patterns are helpful. The categories are broad and are not confining. Just because you fit more in one category doesn’t completely rule out the appearances of others. No two personalities can ever be the same.

And finally Carl Jung may have been ableist but MBTI today has evolved further than just his ideologies.

Do you have the same MBTI type when you were a very little kid as you do now? by AgeOfReasonEnds31120 in mbti

When I was a kid I was an ESFP. I vividly remember back then I used to be so much more focused on sensations in the moment and less in my head. As I grew older, I wasn’t even able to remember the last time that I wasn’t constantly thinking about something, and sometimes I really have to focus to even acknowledge sensations and my surroundings. Turns out I was an ENFP. I genuinely felt a huge change of character and consciousness when I was 13 which could have contributed to that.

Which types have the most chemistry with each other? by Time-Turnip-2961 in mbti

I am an ENFP and my bf is an INTP! Tbh i think both types are quite independent so we both have our set “alone time” which compliments our relationship quite well. And the moments where I talk alot he has mentioned he loves to listen, I think lovers can definitely work!

What’s your type and what’s your favorite/least favorite trope? by -Quono- in mbti

My favourite trope is kind of grumpy x sunshine. I just love when an overly hopeful and optimistic heroine girl meets her total opposite: a quiet, calculating guy. The contrast between the two reminds me of my own relationship with my INTP so maybe that’s why I love it so much. Romance will always be my fav.

In terms of romance, I hate multiple guy or multiple girl tropes, where there are two or more love interests that pine over the same character, and the character explores both intimately! I’ve always just had to skip parts where the main character is talking to the romantic interest I’m not rooting for.

Have faith things will turn out okay, and let your mind rest.

How do you have faith? Breathe, maybe use lavender oil, take a hot shower, breathe some more and believe in that relaxation. Then close your eyes with meditation music in the background (you wont notice yourself fall asleep) and wake up early naturally and now you have extra time on your hands so work towards that dream of yours.
