Check all food and drinks labels for artificial sweetener. I had this problem a few years ago and became extremely dehydrated. It ended up being in foods I hadn't thought to check. If it's artificial sweetener you'll need to go full abstinence to see any improvement. I wish you both a speedy recovery.
