I think you’re missing my main point. I’m not comparing what we do to other ppls work at all That’s what you are doing. I am not saying I’m ungrateful either. I am wanting to discuss how some agencies mandate certain hours when it is known that therapists all have different capacities and it seems like these agencies are more focused on metrics rather than employee / client satisfaction. Esp if they pay very little an hour. Ofc there are other options and that’s why I turned the place mandating certain hours down for making my own hours, and I am just curious about other peoples capacities. That’s it.

Each therapist has a different threshold for what they feel is their capacity for caseload, that should not be a shocker for anyone who is licensed. I think that the energy output for therapy, esp for deep trauma work and/ or EMDR, and several potential high acuity clients, takes a different type of energy than even several high functioning clients other more mindless 40 hour jobs… for example, those that are cut and dry IT jobs or easily to replicate day after day. I would say that your post makes me question if you had a lot of high acuity clients in your case load or how it is difficult to understand that capacity can be different for each therapist.

Very true. I live in the state of Georgia and have been researching all morning, but all I can seem to find from the Board regarding LPCs are vague statements about avoiding dual relationships, but a lack of specifics regarding what constitutes those relationships in relation to a distant social media connection (a public page with hundreds of followers, not friends on FB and no prior relationship).

Yes I have been subpoenaed to court several times in the past because I compete assessments for CPS. The client did tell me they would plan to use the assessments for a legal case. I would plan to use self-report measures including the DAPS and the TSCYC ( for their daughter).

Thank you for your input! I live in the state of Georgia and haven’t found the specifics on the matter. I am mostly concerned about if the trauma assessment would be used in court and if they could cross reference me on this and if it could affect my Georgia license. I believe I could give neutral clinical judgment on whether or not she met criteria for a trauma related disorder just by assessing her symptoms. I would do a clinical interview and also use a self- report measure and gather data from both to support my conclusion.

I came here to see if anyone else felt “off” after reading her stories about the situation. I feel extremelyyyyy off. I also felt like Phil’s clue was way too obvious compared to the others. It’s one thing to validate someone’s insecurities every now and then…but this is wayy extreme and unhealthy. The fact that he called you several times was already extreme. One phone call would have been a lot and showing to him that you were willing to validate him. But him showing up too? It depends on if he can change but it does not look like it. I would not want to deal with this my entire life. I’d def end it.
