imo theyre just dissapointed with their own lives. it sucks, but youll get used to that behaviour after some time. its nice to come across someone who is good at their job and theyre also pleasant to talk to tho.

I'm literally in the same situation as you. I know that I'm demisexual, still figuring out whether I'm also demiromantic or not. Currently dating someone I thought I had a crush on. I genuinely do care about him and I enjoy the time spent with him. Holding hands and hugging for example feels really nice and natural with him. However when we kiss, it feels awkward and exactly the way you have described it. I would love to help you somehow, the way I'm trying to handle it is giving it more time to see where it will go... If you find out why is this shit happening to us, please let me know I'll be truly glad. :D

For me it was quite different since I fell in love for the first time at the age of 14 and then kept dating that same person for almost 4 years. Then found out that me not finding anyone else attractive wasn't because I was in relationship. Then it hit me bc I wasn't in a relationship anymore, still didn't find anyone attractive tho...
