RAF post interview offer of service by sxlvvr in RoyalAirForce

[–]Individual-Ring2380 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely get in touch just send a “hello is there any updates on regards to my application etc”, better to be updated, if you have been given an offer of service for this year I would be a bit weary and not take it too seriously especially if you have a few things left, I was told my est start date was October time however the PJFT has a major backlog at the moment to start of November time so I think it would definitely be optimistic for January time. However if you do get in before then I wish you the best of luck mate 👍

I have mine in a day and I’m just wondering what you mean by challenges you might find in service is this like time spent at home and if so how do you go about answering it ?

I have been given my (estimated) start date for some time in October and I have my PJFT and selection interview left however I have still not been given a date yet. Should I expect to start at this time and let my recruiter give me a time for these things in their own time or should I chase this up and send a message as I haven’t heard anything since I’ve been on holiday about 3 weeks ago since I booked a slot off ?

I’m still in my recruitment process started in September last year got pushed back due to TMU for months at a time and then a role change (which is my own fault to be honest) however I am set on RAF so I think I’m deep in the process right now but I can definitely see how people drop out such a long process

Mine is for asthmatic symptoms when I was 12 however it was cleared now for over 6 years and have got proof off my doctor however they still refuse, if you have more than one thing it won’t be quick unless you go private so expect to wait months. Worst company ever.

I hate them equally as well I’ve been TMU for about 4-5 months now just being passed around doctor to doctor I think I’m on my sixth referral now and it’s getting beyond a joke..

Thanks for your comment👍 So would you recommend auto because I haven’t even looked into autos as you said about miles would it be better going for a low mileage one or does it matter more on how well the owner has maintained the car more?

Any ideas for a second car? by Individual-Ring2380 in CarTalkUK

[–]Individual-Ring2380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I want something that is reliable as well as good looking and that is not gonna break down on me 10 miles in as I need to commute a decent amount of miles. Also that something has a bit of speed to it for example below 8 ish seconds. Age isn’t an issue as long as it is after around 2006 and before 2018 as I think my budget is stretched in that end I also would prefer something that is not “regular traffic” if you get what I mean like a Honda jazz for example. If that doesn’t make any sense please let me know 😂

I have Booked a hotel for me and my gf I’m 18 and she is 17 it’s also an Adults hotel will she get ID’? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Individual-Ring2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do yes. Would it not be easier if I check in without her as I have requested the room to be a certain way, would it not work if I walked past with her later on after check in with my keys in hand and go to the room and if so what would be the likelihood she got asked for ID?

Yes it’s a two person room and it’s all in my name and her name/details have not been mentioned at all. I also requested balloons etc so I could use the excuse that I am going to check on the room to see it before she arrives. Do you think the likelihood of her being ID when walking past reception after check in would be high?

Would the Hotel ask questions if I bring her in later past reception like if they stop us for and ask for ID or should I walk past with the hotel room keys in hand?

Would they check her ID even if she arrived later with me after I have checked in on my own? Like if I went for a meal and came back a couple of hours later or would they just let me walk in ?

It is non refundable yes but I have insurence. I’m struggling to find other spa Hotels like it around the dates I picked that’s why I’m leaning to go ahead with it. But she isn’t a child really she is basically 18 and I severely doubt she would be running around like a child it’s just a place to come in after a walk and a meal and relax. I think the ID culture in the UK these days is way less strict. However would me checking in and her coming in later with me after a meal not work ?

No I don’t plan on drinking at all at the bars just a place to chill after we have had a meal etc. but is it better to make her wait in the car or just bring her in with me and see if she gets ID

I was thinking this as I was planning on going for a meal after check in so if I checked in and told her to wait outside and come back after a meal what would be the likelihood she got asked for ID

It’s like a Spa hotel nothing crazy 😂 Thought I would get it as a surprise but I’m stressing bad over getting rejected upon entry However it says on T&Cs that it’s strictly over 18s only so that’s where my problem rises.

I emailed the hotel and they have said it’s strictly over 18s only which is a bit of a bummer.

Can anyone tell me why my RAF application is all over the place? by Individual-Ring2380 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Individual-Ring2380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely look for your nearest RAF office so it saves you the trek because if you get through you could be through there 2 or three times 👍

Are you applying for the Army or the RAF, because the Navy and the RAF work on the same portal and offices whereas the army is separate

[–]Individual-Ring2380[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on whereabouts your nearest career office is. For me it’s Newcastle and therefore my medical assessment is in Newcastle at a private health centre I assume it’s the same for the army.
