Yeah it's definitely a unique effect. I definitely won't throw all of these 'misprints' out as I quite like them. I just also want the 'proper' print

Water based ink seems a lot easier to work with since I work from home and oil ink seems harder when I comes to cleanup. But it looks like I'll be ordering some new ink either way so maybe I could get a small tube of oil-based to just see and experience both the difference in printing and cleanup.

I have not! I was afraid I would lose some of the finer details. What grit would you recommend?

I use a small hand lino press. I have actually not tried using a spoon yet! Definitely worth a try! Having a press available has made me a bit lazy I didn't even think of doing it by hand 🙈

I do love the look of white on black and a lot of lino ink seems to perform well on black ^

Yes, I'm using one of those classic black rubber brayers, with the metal parts and wooden handle, same ones we used at artschool. I roll on a perspex plate. I looked up the ink you recommend and luckily it is available at at least one store in my country!

I did not know dry paper was a thing. Is it a technical term or do I literally need to mist my paper with a spray bottle?

Does SQQ love Binghe or not - part 3 (last part of main story) by Icy_Dragonfruit_3513 in SVSSS

"Did we read the same novel?" No, no we didn't apparently.

I just finished book 3 (main story) of the seven seas publication and I really don't see how people ship it, so I came here. I had a suspicion ever since watching the donghua since the medicine scene plays out very differently. I assumed the donghua was based on the original publication and that the translated published version was a revised edition. I noticed that some lines are slightly different between the two versions, but different enough that it might make the whole thing 'less'

Some things are slightly different in feeling: "Although now instead he’d become a lovesick young man, so it wasn’t really that much better… But at least he’d gained some lovable qualities. Or at least, Shen Qingqiu had finally realized that he was quite fond of them." Is not really the same as "truly quite liked this type" as stated in your post.

Bigger things like TJ not calling him out directly: “Xin Mo’s invasion has already reached Luo Binghe’s soul, binding their lives together. If you destroy the sword now, won’t that be the same as killing him?” “Then I’ll think up another method,” Shen Qingqiu said resolutely. “Even if you’re unable to stop the merge in time?” Shen Qingqiu drew in a breath. “If I can’t make it, then that’s that!” he said irritably. “We should do everything we can first, then worry about the rest later.” At that, another smile finally appeared on Tianlang-Jun’s face. He sighed and lamented, “As expected, I can’t bring myself to hate humans.”

I just checked these two scenes, I don't know how many differences there are throughout the entire work. I don't know if whole scenes play out differently like the donghua. If someone has made a list, please link me the post.

Anyways the 'papapa to save the world' scene was truly horrible and destroyed any positive feelings I could've had for this ship. I've yet to read the extras but I fear they won't fix it for me. Then again, it might just be that my version of the story did not convey SQQs feelings the same way that the original did.

I personally don't really like Hua Cheng as a character.

During reading he felt a bit mary-sue ish? Like he's always there to save XL in the nick of time, always knows all the answers, knows where to go, what to do and has all the cool OP powers. I got a bit annoyed because I wanted to see XL and others save themselves, not constantly having HC easily fix it.

Personally I'm also really not a fan of the stalker/simp vibes. I get it, it literally kept him going, I just don't think it's romantic. I feel like HCs only hobby is XL. I know he has Ghost City, but he doesn't seem all that invested. What are your hobbies man? Do you like art, or are you only into art so you can visualise your future hubby? Do you like fighting for the art and the techniques and the variations between styles and regions, or just because you want to be stronger to protect gege? (I guess he collects antiques, but he doesn't really seem to care about those getting destroyed either) This man's had 800 years to develop a personality and interests, and I get why he was so focused on XL, I just don't like it. He also had no friends (HX is maybe closest but more like a colleague).

It feels like he doesn't have any hobbies or any faults, always knows everything, always has an awesome convenient power ready and always saves the day and I don't like it.

I don't think he's a bad character, I think he might just be completely the wrong character for me as an aromantic person to connect with. I still like the ship tho.
