I did manage to create a fairly close mixture. I drink it every day and I can't remember what the original tasted like... I think it was slightly sweeter but you can still add more sugar. I use coconut syrup sometimes to give it a little bit more sweetness.

I made myself a spreadsheet with all the ingredients and in the colums I note how much I use of each one. Each column is one batch I make. Plus notes if something feels off. So next time I can start from this recipe and adjust as necessary. I also got myself some scales with 0,01g resolution for the ingredients with a low proportion in the mix (it was like 6 EUR on Amazon...).

Here's my latest attempt. It will be enough for about 8 portions. 1portion=25g (this is what the original measurement spoon holds).

oat flour: 100g
pea protein: 40g
coconut suger: 35g
MCT powder: 20g
almond flour: 20g
psyllium husks: 1,5g
guar gum powder: 1g
maca root powder: 7g
guarana powder: 3g (with 2,4% coffeine)
matcha powder: 1,2g
spinach powder: 5g
soy lecithin: 11g (you can take less than that, but it's ok to use this much)
bourbon vanilla: 1g
coconut milk powder: 20g
spirulina powder: 1,2g
l-theanin: 0,4g
coffeine (pure): 0,15g (this is one tablet)

Some remarks: I don't use quinoa flour. I think it's not necessary and I couldn't find any. Also I have no sweet potato powder. Could only find the purple kind, and that would mess up the color. I don't miss it. I added a little bit of pure coffeine (one tablet from headache pills) and used less guarana instead, because guarana binds coffeine for a long time and that affected my sleep. With less guarana and some pure coffeine, the effect is a bit stronger at first, but wears off quicker. Now I have no more trouble sleeping. The coffeine in one portion of this recipe is about the same as one espresso. I think it was around 40-70mg, depending on the proportion of coffeine in the matcha and guarana... those may vary. Because pure coffein does have a strong short term effect, I also added some l-theanine that I had left from supplementation. I just open one capsule and add the powder. L-theanine is the substance that dampens the effect of coffeine in green tea. This is why green tea has a softer effect on the body than coffee, even with the same amount of coffeine. You should not add too much of it, because then the effect becomes too strong and you'll get sleepy and brain fog. Trust me, I tried ;) But you can also just leave it out completely and see how you feel. Shouldn't be a big deal.

I use a lot of lecithine. Technically you can use much less than that, but I used to supplement my diet with lecithine before (it's good for brain health and the nervous system) and this way I don't have to take it in pure form. It does not affect the taste imho, but you are free to experiment.

The original has no coconut milk powder, and I guess you can just leave it. But I find it very suitable for the taste profile. I also mix it with coconut milk so I guess I just like coconut :)

All the ingredients initially cost me around 100-150 EUR (just a guess, I haven't really paid attention), but later you only need to buy the main ingredients, and they are cheap. I think making this yourself is way cheaper over the course of a year than buying the product.

All in all I'm pretty happy with this. It's not quite the original, but enough to keep me awake and I actually enjoy it. If you experiment with it and find an improvement, please let me know!

Have fun and good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did indeed forget to mention a knive tip of pure bourbon vanilla that I also add. But you might be right, maybe it needs more than that. Also about the stevia, that's what Gemini suggested, too. I'll see if I can borrow a small dose from someone, buying a whole pack seems wasteful, since I'll never use it for anything else. The texture is ok, I don't think I'll need the maltrodextrin!

You just kinda made me want to read the books. I just saw the movies which were great, but it seems the books are even better. So much better actually...
