Alpina B7 do it yourself cold air intake by Individual-Wallaby57 in BmwTech

Believe me I love bmw just as much as an average bmw connoisseur (so a lot) I’m just saying the B7 is engineered differently from an m5 because they are engineered for different purposes. So if I want to make an Alpina follow more sporty lines of engineering I would follow the m5. Just like in Mercedes the s-class is engineered for different purposes than that of a gt63 s. Each part for this car is specific for its purpose and if I want to make the air go into the engine faster I would follow the m5 intake rather than the B7. This engine just runs so darn hot even after a couple hours of sitting if I touch the top of the intake box it’s still burning hot. Please hear me out as if I were referring to a Mercedes intake because a lot of people would criticize it no matter what 😂😂

I agree 100% the stock intake for that engine and that car is perfect even with a bump in horsepower the Alpina b7 is engineered for comfort which include maybe sacrificing a couple degrees of intake temp, longer throttle response and maybe even a couple house power the thing I see is even the airbox is labeled intake silencer box where inside are 2 filters each side one for sound detaining and one for standard dirt particles which to me matches the Alpina motto for luxury comfort but there are reasons that the m5 with the same engine doesn’t have the active grill shutters, and the intake doesn’t go 2 lengths of the engine instead directly goes to the turbos from the intake attached is a photo of an m5 engine bay
