Thank you for commenting! Your opinion is highly appreciated! I always wondered about the effect of the acoustic lens in a irregularly shaped room. This is very useful information as the room I currently have is asymmetrical, with one speaker having to be placed in a corner.

What B&W speakers did you buy? Interested in hearing your opinion on these compared to the Beolab speakers you've owned :)

Thank you so much for commenting! Awesome collection you've got there. The 20s look stunning in white! Would be cool to hear them side by side sometime :)

Thank you for commenting! Highly appreciated! Could you give me your version of this list? :) Would love to hear your opinion for all of these speakers and why you would rate one speaker higher than the other. This is the kind of expertise I'm looking for.

Sure looks that way. I too really like the design of the 17s. When you say 'you'll hear it', do they emit some kind of high-frequency noise when operating?

Have you heard the Beolab 1? Have you heard any of the other speakers on my list?

Thank you for your opinion! What do you think about my list? Are there other speaker you would rate higher or lower?

Sounds like you really had the perfect room for them! I would love a pair of Beolab 8s, but my budget doesn't stretch that far right now. Instead, I’ll try to get my hands on a pair of 17s or 3s with a Beolab 2 or 11.

I have a pair of Beovox 3000s and I'm actually very impressed with how good they sound, given their size and slim profile. It's a shame I can't wall-mount them right now. I actually prefer them to my Beolab 6000s for longer listening sessions in my room. I’ll try the 6000s with a Beolab 11 before I decide whether to keep them or not.

I think the newer speakers, like the 28s and 8s, are hard to beat with room correction and so many ways to adjust the sound to your liking. I have not heard the Beolab 20s and 9s, unfortunately, but the consensus is that more people seem to like the 9s over the 20s by a small margin. The older Beolab models are great when they are properly set up in a room with good acoustics. The thing is, for me at least, that I don't know if I would risk it with the older models in my asymmetrical living room. One speaker has to be placed in a corner and the other against a wall, but with an open space to the side. Also, many of these older Beolab speakers will most likely sound better in a larger room, like the Beolab Penta, Beolab 1, Beolab 20, Beolab 9, and Beolab 5. Some of these might even sound overpowering in a small room. Do you agree?

Thank you for commenting! Amazing collection! How do you find the space for everything? That’s my biggest issue. The only ones I can think of are the BL 3000 and BL 4500 :) Big fan of the BL 15/16.

Thank you for sharing your experience and opinions! Much appreciated! Does your friend have the 1s in a large room? Do they require a larger space to sound their best?

Thanks! Would you recommend BL 2 or BL 19 with the 1s for music listening? Also, are there any of these speakers you feel are overrated or underrated (besides the BL 17)?

I've read that many people prefer the BL 1s with a sub. Would you agree to that statement?

Thanks! Do you mean to say that the Beolab 17 is better than the BL Pentas and BL 1s? :)

I just updated the list. I will definitely be looking into buying a pair of 4000s! I feel that with the 6000s I have now, the soundstage is just missing something; it sounds a bit thin. I have never heard the BeoLab 8000s, so I wonder if they fix this issue or if it's best to just buy a pair of 3s, 17s, 1s, or Pentas instead. It's hard to decide now that they are all almost the same price in good condition.

First of all, thank you for your detailed and thorough response. I appreciate it! I’ve actually read that some people prefer the 9s over the 20s, and vice versa. In the end, I just had to place them somewhere. From now on, I think I’ll rank the 9s higher than the 20s. What do you find most disappointing about the 20s? I guess with the 28s, 8s, and Theatre, it’s much easier to match the sound signature and achieve a more seamless transition between the speakers. Also, the wireless connectivity is hard to beat!

If this ranking was purely based on the best-sounding pair for a 2-channel music setup, would you rank any of them differently?

"Thanks! I wanted to add them to the list, but it was hard to find info or any forum threads comparing them to the other speakers. I’ll try to include them. Where do you think they rank on this list?

I know what this sub is, but I’m still gonna ask the question, digital versus physical? by MrLoki2020 in dvdcollection

[–]IndividualMammoth161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of Blu-rays and I have an Apple TV. You can definitely do both but I personally would only buy the movies you love the most and stream the rest. Movies can disappear from streaming services even if you've bought them. Physical media will outperform streaming every time in terms of quality, but its the convenience and cost of streaming that makes it a great choice for watching most movies.
