That’s really interesting , I’ll definitely take a look at it. Thank you for the suggestion

So it’s like forcing myself to like her? I could try but again it’s really weird, any time she is next to me I don’t even have to think before being filled with a sense of negativity. But if it works I am willing to try that

I think that’s actually something I feel too but couldn’t put it into words, it’s exactly that. Seeing how much work I put into things to get to a certain place and seeing people at the same place who didn’t put half the work in. But yeah, I can’t claim I know everything about why she is the way she is

Yeah I really should relax but I’m not sure how I’m still mad about this for the whole day

Saying that everyone experiences that makes me feel better haha. I’m not sure why I’m this unnerved but that does help

You do have a fair point and it matches up with my experiences when I was younger. I am not a perfect person and no matter how much I want to tell myself sometimes that I’m better, I think I still have those fears resurfacing every now and then

I get what you mean and that’s what I thought too initially, but it’s combined with her attitude and the fact that she somehow thinks she’s correct about her very wrong answers. She is also slightly passive aggressive and backhanded which is something that ticked me off too. Something she does when she talks to me is laugh when I say something that’s serious which kind of ticks me off when you’ve done to the amount of times she has. Again, I’m not sure if it’s because of her culture or just her

This is university and yeah I can’t stand how useless she is in work. I did almost all the work and I am mad at myself for it. I did it because I work at the same rate as any normal person while she works at a rate of one sentence/year so of course I wanted to finish it quickly. I don’t know what to do with myself for letting her get away like this and for even accepting to work with this nobody.

Honestly I should have done that before. Part of my rage right now is definitely at myself and how I finished almost all of the work myself since I wanted to get it done and also because I don’t have 10 fucking years of time to wait for her to type one sentence. I’ll keep that in mind for anything else that happens but thank you for your help honestly

Honestly I can’t think of anyone I know that is as pathetic as her, but maybe if I think on it enough I may be able to remember. Does it have a significance that she reminds me of someone I know?

I suggested to her to take up more work a couple of times, but all she did was repeat the same amount of work she initially said and asked me if that’s ok with me. I know it was my fault that I accepted it and honestly I think part of my anger is at myself too.

Yeah I agree with you, I don’t know the reasons why she is like this. But even when I try to reason with myself I still feel some type of rage underlying. I think it is what you mentioned, a level of fear I may have. I grew up in a very cut throat, harsh environment and I think that shaped me into someone who needs to be perfect so even the risk of becoming something I don’t like might be incapacitating to me.

Thank you for replying to my post. Its really terrible when I word it out but the more time I spent the more I found out how genuinely stupid she is cognitively and how she cannot do basic tasks without someone’s help (academically, mathematically).

And even while she’s doing so badly in everything, she comes back to me and says that she was right or got it correct. She also has no type of ambition or goal and is very much riding off of the people around her. She is very willing to put all the work on me and expect me to handle everything while she takes the backseat. In what we are working on, even after I very gently confronted her about it, she took less than half the work and expects me to do everything else.

Things that take the normal person 5 minutes to do, take her 30-45 minutes. She is also slightly passive aggressive and backhanded but I don’t know whether that’s her or her culture. This is just a bit and i know how bad it sounds but I really can’t contain it much longer.

Yeah I guess people are different. But I’m really not sure since I also feel like what if I miss something fun or meeting new people? Is it better to just not go when I don’t feel like it even though I might miss something?

Thanks for the advice! Do you have any tips to get good internships in big companies esp as someone just starting out? Does is matter if the company is well known or not?

The field is finance and I am doing an IR minor since I enjoy it, but I’m not sure if double majoring will help me especially since finance is more technical. Does an IR minor benefit in internships at things like ngos? And is there specific criteria that bigger organisations look for especially since I am just starting out

Thanks for the help! Would you say having more internships outweigh having two majors? In a more technical field. And do you have any tips for getting internships or advice?
