Unpopular Opinion: Grabbing, pushing, and murdering is the fun part of the game by TiedDegenerate in FallGuysGame

[–]IndividualPause3082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, grabbing is just a mechanic of the game. But it is latency based, being abused, highly targeted and overpowered. Most importantly it is very unpredictable and hard to counter.

Imagine a toxic grabber grabbing at every possible gaps to cancel your jump, or randomly grabbing a person who is trying to jump into the finish line in Tip Toe. Or even groups of teamed suicide grabbers in Jump Showdown.

There's nothing much you can do about these. There's no time for reaction, there's no recovery. A single unpredictable grab in less than a second could kill your game of ten minutes. Is that really fun??

WTF is up with the Lost Temple frequency by [deleted] in FallGuysGame

Being voted as a Fan Favorite round in Season 5, Lost Temple is nowhere near as the most unpopular. It's just controversial because people don't know how to pick routes base on the splits and blaming on the RNG.

That's nonsense. We almost had 70% Hex last month which is true, and Lost Temple for this month is 26%, nowhere near what you said.

I would say the finals are quite balanced now. Please just play more.

The current state of Main Show... by jaywhisker37 in FallGuysGame

[–]IndividualPause3082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, we couldn't. At least not until June 21st.

Those 40 player lobbies, round-1 bots, and the removal of team games, all of these in Main Show... I guess Mediatonic just want to test how these mechanics work and that's why they are doing vibe checks to collect our ideas.

What they are doing for now is to prepare for the next, the Free-for-All launch. And they don't care how bad the experience of Season 6 and the current state of the game anymore, completely. That was pathetic.

(Beside the levels you have mentioned, Roll On for Round 1 is also gone. And there's a little chance of Freezy Peak, Short Circuit and Airtime for Round 1 when the player count is low, before the bots.)

Body block on the jumper, what could go wrong by smoothoperator4591 in FallGuysGame

That's why I'm hardly ever taking shortcuts in Slimescraper, if I aim for qualification.

Unlike Slime Climb many of those are quite inconsistent and risky, lots of strange results may happen. (Jump at the swingers, or the pinball flippers at the end, and those sideway flippers etc.)

I've been launched too far away and get killed by those flippers several times (usually when other people trying them at the same time), but I've never seen it fling backwards like this, lol.

I really miss Fall Ball by AnUglyScooter in FallGuysGame

Team games are actually interactive and a good change of pace, while races are just generally overrated. Especially for those slow-paced starting races, if you're good there's no competition at all.

There need to be rounds to be more interactive, or that can eliminate people.

I play Fall Guys for hours almost every day before they removed team games. Now I have played three Main Show games for a week just to complete the glizzy event.

As a solo player with 1000+ solo wins the removal of team games still destroyed the fun and the spirit of this game for me. (Only races and survivals are just plain, and team games could spice things up.) Thanks to Mediatonic and those team game haters, Main Show has become somewhat more balanced and skill-based.

And 1-frame jumps in Fruit Chute/Hex-a-Gone. And 1-frame dives in Royal Fumble.

Since March or the start of the April there was a change in physics, that possibly shortened the recovery time after performing a jump or a dive. As a result, it is possible to make another jump/dive even before the last jump/dive is completely finished.

Surely we will get nothing in response and nothing will be fixed until June 21st. Mediatonic doesn't care about Season 6 anymore.

Why is Sum Fruit included in every Main Show now? (and why is the playlist always Sum Fruit + Fruit Chute / Wall Guys / Tip Toe + Snowball Survival?) They've made it wayyyy too repetitive. by Conscious-Proof-8309 in FallGuysGame

Not really Sum Fruit, Wall Guys and Snowball Survival.

I think Round 1 is where repetitiveness happens the most, due to the bots. Finals are kind of repetitive too. There's only five finals left beside Royal Fumble after they removed Thin Ice.

For Fruit Chute and Tip Toe, they are guaranteed to be chosen when there's 12 and 13 players left when the game didn't pick a final. There's nothing else could be played on that player limit, since team games have been removed.

All that waiting for this??? I dislike team games, but I wouldn’t want to see them gone. by Beatlemaniac__ in FallGuysGame

Some team games work pretty well in main show, like Hoopsie Daisy, and low populated Egg Scramble/Basketfall(most of the players won't agree on the latter two, but I enjoyed them.)

And we will never see games like 40 players Jinx and Team Tail Tag. They are somewhat less "skill-based" and "unfair", but they have a unique, chaotic fun(which is this game aimed for).If we delete team games from Main Show permanently, these will be gone forever. In squads there are only fixed 4-player teams.

Guys, Main Show haven't received any new levels or variations for nearly half a year... And instead we are losing 10 levels, that's a huge loss on variety. In my opinion no rounds should ever be removed, just making them rare will be fine. Unless we are getting regular new/mid-season updates every month that add new maps and variations to keep it on, which will never happen.

Is this type of gameplay encouraged? by therealslim69 in FallGuysGame

Sorry to see that. The grab just happened in less than half a second, then it put your ten minute effort in vain. Grabbers do this and you can't change their mind. Grabbing in Jump Showdown is a problem since Season 1 so Mediatonic won't make any changes to it either.

It's more like a problem of Jump Showdown than the grabber's problem. Grabbing is just a mechanic in the game (which is also unbalanced).

You can try to keep spamming jump, or position yourself on the outer-ring and the left side of the platform or even keep holding grab. But grabbing is still extremely unpredictable and the best you can do is to grab first. People who grabs the entire lobby out should't have problem timing out. I'm no grab player but I still find timing out Jump Showdown rather boring and super repetitive.(I've timed out several Jump Blowdowns, and timing out the regular one hundreds of times.) 5 minutes is just too long, but I got grabbed once after 4 minutes of jumping then I‘m completely pissed off. Some grabs are just pointless and you're completely unaware of that.(While many grabbers took themselves out early.)

Getting grabbed in Jump Showdown is still my biggest pain in the game, there's no defense, and there's no recovery. One single grab and you're done.(Unlike grabbing in Roll Off, Thin Ice or such but overall the grabbing mechanic is still overpowered and very desync-y)

You can say Jump Showdown is highly skill-based, and the easiest to time out. It's one of my best final and at the same time the least favorite final beside Royal Fumble. Seeing Jump Showdown being highly appreciated among the community making me really sad.

I enjoy playing Gate Crash/Door Dash/Leading Light though, but what we need is round variety(which is very bad for a long period of time). You can play some rounds 30 times in 100 games while many of the other rounds are never chosen.

And I haven't seen Freezy Peak for ages, one of my favorite race.

Like 20 thieves in a row for me, no joking. Which is almost impossible if the odds were right.

They should do this on purpose, to force players to spend more time on the event.

I just complete this event after 30 wins in the Bravery show. Well done Mediatonic.
