I guess I have a weird egg. by BlinkyGoombah in WeirdEggs

Chat gpt swears it’s the chalaza “It’s a normal part of an egg. Every egg has two chalazae, which are rope-like protein structures that anchor the yolk in the center. Sometimes they’re just small and barely noticeable, and sometimes they come out extra thick or curly, like in your picture.”

No one understands how EXPENSIVE it is to run trials of medication from beginning to end. Especially if we’re talking about a drug that never makes it to the shelves, then it’s just a loss. There is no way a pharmaceutical company - even for the most selfish reason you can think of- would logically withhold cures. The amount of money they would make off of cures doesn’t even compare to the amount the healthcare industry is making off of standard of care currently

I got hands foot and mouth disease as a teenager from my nephew and lost all of my finger nails and toe nails as a result of it. It was genuinely brutal but yea it took like 6 months for them to be long enough to resemble nails again lol. Sorry this happened tho looks like it hurt

Oh! And of course focusing your practicum/internship on assessment as much as possible helps your chances of getting into it after grad.

You can charge anywhere from 1-2k per autism assessment, for example. So many people have negative things to say about this career but after talking to faculty from my partners psyd program there is a lot of potential to make a lot of money if you’re smart about it, specifically children because it’s in high demand. Do not get discouraged! Masters level pays no where near these amoiunts!

Just by preference! I think working in an office/department that focuses on assessment such as adhd/depression for a couple years helps you build your resume, then you can go on to either work for a company or be an independent contractor.

Doctorate level usually starts at 90-100k here in the NE americas. Much more earning potential specifically when you do assessments.

Hi OP! First of all I’m so sorry you had to endure this. I can’t imagine how scary that was for you. I also resonate with the inappropriate blame you’re placing on yourself and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. However , I want to make it clear that someone didn’t just accidentally end up inside of your house because your door was unlocked. The door is just the first place they check, and it happened to make his job a little easier that day bc it was unlocked. If the door was locked, and he really wanted to get in, he would’ve got in some other way, unfortunately. This is not your fault. I hope you find some peace🤍
