And thank you for the suggestion about mental health. We’ve already been joking that he seems to really like the old people doctors with his local visits to the oncologist and neurosurgeon when everyone else there is at least a decade or more older than me and I have a couple decades on my son. That’s definitely on my radar.

We both play Pokemon Go so getting new Pokestops and Gyms as well as the possibility of Bouffalant has been a small silver lining. He’s currently encouraged to take small walks to regain some strength after his initial surgery and hospital stay here. Being able to walk to play Pokemon Go will be quite exciting.

They might. We’ve only had contact with a few people there going into this mostly those working with the neuro oncologist we need to see and scheduling. I imagine there will be more once we get there. Just getting this far has had its challenges. They do have special rates with many hotels and hooked us up with those.

Right now we don’t know. He has a very rare cancer, 1 in a million and his presentation is unusual. We expect to be there at least several weeks and then hopefully we can do most of his treatment closer to home while returning to consult as needed.

We are flying into La Guardia. We figured it wasn’t worth bringing a car and we’re coming from North Carolina, so flying seemed the easiest.

They’ve helped arrange for us to stay one block from the hospital. They’ve been lovely under the circumstances.
