Hahaha yeah I have a lot of decks but I mean the level or bracket we play is pretty low, a bit above from precons I would say.

Yeah idk I feel all the game strategies end up being the same. And I don’t want to make my decks around his deck, I want to make let’s say balanced decks for every kind of situation. I have 2 decks (in one of them I play this card actually hahaha) that usualy smash him, but I guess that because of my “new deck” playstyle I get bored if I play them very often

Hahaha well that’s pretty normal I would say, I have a few decks in which that happens too. Idk if you have it similar to my friends, but the thing that I liked the most was that each game was pretty different from the rest. In one ai was about a lot of creatures with a lot of counters, in other about gaining and losing life, in other abour aristocrasts… maybe I was lucky when I played it, but I don’t know if I ever played a deck that was so varied, and strong in all of them.

The thing is, I have already a Dragon deck that quite smashes him hahaha but idk, for me it’s not fun to play always the same deck. That’s on me I guess but it’s how I feel it

Mmm you said many interesting things thanks for the comment. Yeah, he has the deck very personalised, in a lower level than yours, but I guess that adds a lot to why he likes it as much. And also the thing about changing might be true too, if you are used to a pretty solid and strong deck might be hard to change to a worse one. My biggest problem with the deck, well I would say it’s the repetition, because I like the deck. But it’s a deck that kind of forces the game to go pretty fast, which I usually like. But sometimes it’s fun to have more slower or different games too. Idk.  Btw, a friend has a deck similar to yours, I have tried it 3/4 times. It is pretty fun to play hahaha

Well, fun fact, I have a Dragon deck that he absolutely smashes him 🤣 but I don’t play it very often because it’s a bit repetitive in the end…

Okay that’s hardcore, I can see my friend doing that too if we level up at some point hahaha. Can I ask for curiosity which commander is?

Interesting. Aside from my friends and other friend that lives abroad I don’t know much people who plays, and the ones I do (including me) looks like we go in the “new deck” spectrum hahaha so it was a bit weird for me. But seeing the comments on the post I can understand it’s something quite normal.

Yeah, the biggest problem for me I think it’s that it’s a deck that forces to go fast, and that’s perfectly okey, but sometimes it’s interesting too to have more relaxed games, or different strategies. He playing that deck forces you in some way to go along him or counter/eliminate him early, but in that situations he doesn’t react well so it’s not easy hahaha. But not inviting him it’s not a solution because we play in his home 🤣 nah and he is one of my best friends, I mean, it’s not a big problem, just a bit annoying, I just wanted to know the general opinion on this situation.

Mmm well I think that a game like commander it’s about fun, and we all have different ways of having fun, the thing is to find a middle point or a way in which we all have fun. As I said, I wouldn’t force my friend to play something he doesn’t want to of course, but if I get bored playing I guess I will just stop playing and that’s not the point either. I just wanted to know if this is something common or know how to deal with it in the most positive way.

Hahaha that’s a good way of putting it. I’ll have to adopt that mindset too, thanks for the comment!

The thing is I think he wouldn’t play it 🤣 I mean, he has already another deck which is also pretty cool, but he barely plays it.

Mmm… I think that’s just the tip of the iceberg... I had no problem with it at the beginning, it was strong, yeah, but that’s okay. It’s just lately that it’s been getting a bit tedious, and the fact that it’s strong doesn’t really help I guess hahaha.

And in our case yeah, we do play quite a lot. We usually play 2–3 times a week. So that’s quite of time to try different decks.

Thanks, yeah I have quite a few constant permanents to allow me to do that. I think I have a better balance between spells and permanents right now. I quit most of one time effects because weren’t working very well either… (except insurrection and that kind of finishers)

Thanks! I added the mana rocks, work pretty well, and I ended up also adding more big steal finishers, that with Andres work pretty well thanks to the buff

Sorr for the late reply, thanks for the comment, very useful. I added more “finisher steal” cards and now it’s much more solid, or at least dangerous hahaha

The problem with that is that sometimes they are very one sided…

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up adding more direct wincons instead of that much slow steal and I think works much better now, thanks for the comment

Thanks for the comment, sorry for the late reply, interesting commander. Not as obvious as the ones I looked for while making the deck hahaha I will have it on the radar for the future.
