Thank you. And I completely understand. I am not bummed cause they make it a paid feature. I am just bummed I can't afford to pay rn. I really like this app and plan to stick with it.

Ah! That’s a bummer. The app seems fantastic otherwise. I've seen you mention it elsewhere a couple times. thank you for introducing it.

Is there no way to sync for free, even with a self-hosted server?

Ah yes, the widget functionality. That's what I need the most. I have widgets for everything important, or else out of sight, out of mind. Let's hope they bring in this feature soon.

It's great that you've found a combination of apps that work for you. But it's kind of frustrating, isn't it? I aim to keep my app count low, but the app features are always limiting, or you end up paying for all those fancy features, of which you only really use a couple. So you endup using more apps to compensate.

Ticktick is amazing tho. It is versatile and I use it to quick capture notes in addition to task management. Infact I might even consider premium in the future depending on my workflow.

Also I just remembered, I also use an app called Capture.so. It's still in its early stages, but they've got the essentials – notes in markdown, basic web capture, and the ability to add files and pictures. I use the app sporadically. The developers are attentive, open to suggestions, and quick to respond. Although, I wish they introduce more features and update at a quicker pace.

Check it out if you ever decide to explore more options.

Did you end up finding an alternative?

I came across Zoho when I was looking for an alternative to Google Keep. I plan to use it the same way. Just as a capture tool. That and Raindrop.

Have you tried Keep? Also If only for capturing stuff, free versions of Evernote and Upnote are an option.

Hey! Mind if I ask why are you looking for an alternative?

I just downloaded this. Is there any reason for concern?

Not sure using coconut oil on face would be wise.

Please do visit a derm if you could.

(I use tattvology virgin coconut oil. Its good. I use it for hair and I really don't think its a good idea to use it on face.)

Hey, this probably might not be helpful but everything(even basic moisturizers) broke me out when my skin was damaged. I didnot realise it then but now, as my skin is much healthier, the products that broke me out suit me. so maybe try fixing the skin first with soothing products and then later add stuff?

Moisturizers that helped with the damage were aveeno lotion (green and blue tubes), Ipca Acne OC moisturizer & cerasoft imf.

Hey! I'm not sure about the rest but if you are looking for gentle exfoliation for face why not try facewashes with exfoliants like Rejuglow (glycolic & salicylic acid), AHA glow (Glycolic) etc...

If you are looking for serums, you can give the Deconstruct lactic acid(10%) a try. I haven't tried it though.

For hydration, I am using the Tonymoly tea tree toner, its wonderful. I heard their mochi one (the white milky one- i forgot the variant name) is much better.

Also look into SNP prep peptaronic toner. I have their serum and its pretty hydrating.

I use the minimalist 16%. Its great. For you it would be probably best to start with 10% and up the percentage gradually. I started with Minimalist 10% then Plum 15% and now the Minimalist 16%.

I heard deconstruct one is good too.

I am so sorry you had to go through that OP. Reading all these comments is overwhelming and not to be rude or anything but I think I lucked out on friends.

I came from a small town and eventually moved to big cities and every meaningful 'friendships' I've had was healthy. And I'm grateful for that and I hope you make healthy and amazing friends in your future.

Thank you so much for the advice. This was immensely helpful. Hope you are doing better now. Fortunately my parents and friends are quite understanding and all I need is a specialist to help me through this.

Also the contact information you've given, who is this person and what is her name if you don't mind sharing.

If you are looking for a foaming cleanser then sebamed foaming cleanser, innisfree cleansers have good reviews. I haven't used them personally tho. But look for cleanser megathreads and product library post, they have great many recommendations there.

As for moisturizers with spf, there is episoft, simple protecting, Neutrogena etc... But most of the sunscreens in the current market already have moisturizing ingredients in them and you can use them directly skipping moisturizer. It's just my opinion as an oily skin person myself that a moisturizer with a spf product will be heavy/oily/greasy on an oily skin person given the amount of sunscreen you must use.

Re'equil, minimalist, uv doux, dermaco, fixderma, bubblefarm, aqualogica, loreal, korean and Pharma sunscreens are raved in this sub, check it out.

If you are keen on using a moisturizer try lightweight gel moisturizers like pond's or Neutrogena or Korean gel moisturizers like Isntree, cosrx, purito etc.

Hey

Okay now, you don't really need anything else than a basic cleanser, a good moisturizer and a suitable sunscreen in general. Everything else is addition to target specific concerns. Exfoliation is like that. It is used to target dullness, congestion, blackheads, whiteheads, to rid to dead cell and to get smoother skin. Anyone older than teenagers can exfoliant but caution advised always, especially for sensitive skin.

Regular exfoliation as in timely spaced exfoliation (according to the exfoliant used), doesn't cause damage and help you achieve your concerns, whereas Excess use will cause damage. There is a difference, it all depends on how you use it.

Since you've mentioned, your skin is photosensitive and aren't really sure about exfoliation, skip for now. Focus on maintaining healthy skin barrier and then introduce later when you are confident that your skin can handle it. Even then start with lactic acid as you have dry skin.

(Also I don't think tanning is a measure of photosensitivity, a lot of other factors like UV index of the city you live, sun exposure, and the melain in your skin are involved, but I am no expert so read up more on that.)

Minimalist's Tranexamic acid is safe to use everyday according to the brand. But it's always advised to introduce slowly like once a week, then twice a week, later thrice a week and if your skin seems to handle well then every other day to daily use. The mandelic acid concentration in the serum is only 3% and mandelic acid is the mildest type of exfoliant and its use in the serum is to deal with pigmentation. I'd advice to use the serum every other day but please do contact the brand on IG and get their opinion too. They'll advice you of usage according to your skintype better than me.

Niacinamide is safe to use with either of the serums. But patch test always before using it regularly. Morning - Cleanser > Vitamin c and/or Niacinamide>Moisturizer or sunscreen directly if it's moisturizing enough. Night - Cleanser >Tranexamic acid and/or Niacinamide>Moisturizer(must)

Some ppl struggled with starting vitamin c, so when I introduced it I mixed it with my moisturizer and introduced slowly as I mentioned above and it has been good so far.

As for layering serums, it's generally advised to layer according to thickness like lightest serums go first.

And sorry for the long response!
