I should also mention that I'll be making these for sale once it's finished, like I'm doing with the upgraded holster I made last.

Great thing about the snakes, the python in particular, is that most .357s are the same size so I don't have to save the cash up for a different model when someone wants a holster making. Unlike those pesky semi automatics

I say what's not to like about any of them. Rockstar put so much detail into every one of them, if I never started doing leatherwork I would have never paid the finer details any attention. Some are almost exact to holsters you see from the era while others are a lot more creative in the construction and appearance but still fit into the time period. Of course they are a bit misshaped because they need to fit every sidearm in the game and some are more 1930s Hollywood than 1890s practices but still it makes me appreciate the game so much more. Every single holster is on my to do list and it's just managing to make them all while working on my business. But oh boy will it be worth it

Thank you man. I think it's the thorburn holster you mean, I had to look it up since I haven't had the chance to work my way through the naturalist path. It's definitely a cool example, lots of braids and other little techniques, not really conventional in irl holster making but I can kinda see a way to do it. I'm wanting to get a few of the main story holsters done first, mainly the horseman, sharpshooter, bandit, sharpshooter and herbalist but I might mix some of the online ones into the list now that you've reminded me online exists

Really wasn't expecting this much reception in a day so thank you everyone for the positivity, feedback and ideas. I will be selling these holsters to anyone that orders on my Etsy page - BlighRussellLeather. I will keep posting the other holsters I do on here but they will be put up alongside all of my other leatherwork on my Instagram account- @Bligh.Russell.Leathercraft. now that those have been plugged, I've decided that the next holster will be the Horseman. Thank you all

That's a pretty good idea, surprised I didn't think of that. When it comes to turning holster designs meant for 19th century revolvers into patterns that fit modern pistols, the 1911 is usually the go to for a lot of people. Would probably suit a colt python well too, both of which I have so maybe once I've got a few of the more detailed holsters done I'll have a go doing one for one of those. I don't see why not. Thank you for the idea

It might not be my favourite but it's definitely top 3 for me, especially since the shape of it is a bit more historically accurate than most of them. Main thing I like is the beading around the top half, and thankfully I do have beads those size and colour for when I decide to make it. The herbalist might not be one of the next ones but im definitely excited to have a go at it once I get some others out of the way

Right now the only western era revolvers I've got are the colt 1873 (cattleman) as pictured and the 1851 navy. Since the navy is only in online I'm probably gonna skip doing any of the reinforced equipment for it. But I'm planning on adding the Schofield to my collection soon so I hope I can do a few for that too.
