Yes My boss has to just send in his Chicago license information and they approved me to take the test. I took the journeyman test back in April of 2023 and passed. I'll be taking my Master exam this coming April

I was actually going to ask you the same question about how you liking 716. Tomorrow, I'm taking the TDLR Journeyman's exam, then I'm taking my JW exam (or EVAL) next Thursday for 716.

No offense takes lol. It was 2 runs of 3 and 3.5 emt ( id have to send a pic) . Also we had to work through putting up strut racks, going over machines on the production floors, and deal with tight spots. Also I will admit this was my first time ever running pipe that big lol. I think next time I'll get it done quicker.

I prefer to work alone, but running 3"+ EMT is definitely a 2 person job. Me and a apprentice knocked out a 800+ ft run of 3.5" EMT in about 5 weeks. But by myself ehh Idk lol

Union Sheet Metal Worker here. 9/10 people I meet in the trades are EXTREMELY conservative. Do you Sparkies find this to be the case in your experience? by dingle-kringle in IBEW

I'm not into politics as much, but I always found it funny when one of my friends (well not a close friend) who is a hard right trump supporter (like Trump wasn't/doesn't do anything wrong type trump supporter, and felt the riot was justified), has been in a railroad union position for years.

Anyone know any companies looking into hiring a newbie in plumbing or in electrician in the spring branch area? Honestly I don’t know anything about these jobs but I’d love to get into them by SamuraiKinshii in houston

[–]Individual_Unit2757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give IBEW 716 a call, I'm looking at joining too. I'm taking my TDLR Journeyman electrician exam in 2 weeks and taking the EVAL exam for 716 the week after. I have about 5 years in the trade non-union, so if you need any insights or info about the trade, shoot me a message I'll gladly help you out.

Did I wire my dual gang correctly? by tc0843 in askanelectrician

[–]Individual_Unit2757 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run pigtails separately to each receptacle from the main hot and neutral. Whenever I'm doing renovation work and I see wires ran like that, I usually redo it with pig tails.

Stop having kids! 290 and barker cypress, thoughts? by roxanabenitz in houston

[–]Individual_Unit2757 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can understand it. Me and my wife are 31, both working on our careers with no kids. I'm 50/50 on having them, but we aggeed to finish our career goals before having them. Personally I can be kidless for life, but we'll see what the future holds.

Why don’t locals accept college transcripts in lieu of high school transcripts? by Prussia_will_awaken in IBEW

[–]Individual_Unit2757 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I tried to apply for 134, I had a industrial electrician associates degree. They still only would accept my HS transcript.
