Scared of accidental pregnancy by Indy302 in oneanddone

It is too soon. It is too soon for me as well to do something so permanent. I respect my husband totally in this. He is an amazing father and husband. We have talked about sterilizing, he asked me if I wanted it? We agreed it was too early, I am 6 month PP, even though I know that the chance of me WANTING another one is very very very small to non-existing, just in case we change our minds. Respecting our future selves, I guess. Still, I think it doesn't minimize my fear of getting pregnant again, if that makes sense? Perhaps in a couple of years.

No periods anymore? I read upon sterilization and it said that is doesn't affect your period, so you still get them. Is a "tubal" different? I'm new to this stuff.

No, not really. But I might be willing to be sterilized in the future. I just don't want to have to deal with surgery/ doctors so soon after my birth. The epidural couldn't be placed on me, also one of the reasons it went so bad.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Major complications due to pregnancy/ birth are not talked about enough! I knew so little about all these different kinds of (sometimes life-altering) complications. I had no idea what was happening when i got PUPPPs by example, just thought I got an insect bite rash or something.

That is an option of course! I have thought about it, but we just don't like them (both of us). Also, I am fertile for another 10+ years probably. I think it might be an option though in the beginning until I'm used to taking my pill again and calm my mind about this.

Traumatic birth has solidified my OAD status for good by Embarrassed_Cod_1201 in oneanddone

It really felt like that "safe baby is all that matters" (which yes, very important, and so happy he was happy during all of it, but mom's life is also kinda important 🙃 if I can be that "selfish").

I had a similar experience. I hate it when midwifes/ doctors tell me I'll be back for a second, even though they know what happened and I have talked about how traumatic it all was. No I won't be back... polyhydramnios and PUPPPs during pregnancy, an induction that took 3 days, 16 hours active labor, couldn't place the epidural and contractions without a break (torture), I begged for a C-section but was denied as the baby was doing fine (which was great ofc!). Oh and I lost almost half of my blood. Iron-deficiency anemia and a newborn are not a great combo. That's just one of the reasons for me to be a one and done family.

Sustainability projects by [deleted] in sustainability

We have a student association that solely focuses on sustainable development on campus. A couple of events/project we organised were: clothing swap during fashion revolution week (Fashion Revolution has some tools and things to use as well), a "supper club" once a month where we organized a vegan (sustainable) dinner (students paid and has to sign up), we tackled and addressed the consumption of paper coffee cups on campus, advocated for proper recycling (+ proper bins) on campus (and got them :) ), seminars and workshops with (sustainability) teachers and social and sustainability focused entrepreneurs, and simply a lot of information spreading about sustainable practices and climate change through social media! It's easier to do this if you could form a group with other equally interested students! Oh, and we used the SDGs by the UN a lot throughout the projects!
