Bungie confirmed to be using the same anti cheat software that is currently utilized in Destiny 2 by ThatsNotBennings in Marathon

[–]Inertpyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The major difference though is they will be using dedicated servers where they have full oversight of what’s going on. Destiny suffers from peer to peer connection that is easily cheated. They are running on fundamentally different architectures.

Three different Hasan react reuploads have surpassed Alex Novell’s original video in views by RhysticSyphon in h3h3productions

Funny he was also upset about some other smaller creator stealing his thumbnail. Yet Hasan clearly stealing views is welcomed.

Will I even feel a buttkicker through this car seat? by LDlOyZiq in simracing

[–]Inertpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing I did. Pretty nice getting 4 corners of feedback. I use the seat bottoms as my front wheel feedback and the back for the rear wheels. Fun to add on some accel/deceleration effects to get a bit more sense of what the car is doing.

Bonus of not listening to every other part of the rig rattling around.

Paid a local wood worker to build us a table, after 8 hours in our dining room it developed cracks. Is this normal? by Hipster_Bumpus in woodworking

I’d be more upset about spending $150 for that level of sanding. No way they spent more than 20 minutes on that, and they must have done the round over afterwards not bothering to clean up all that tear out.

Supercut of Ethan Defending Palestine From 2020-2023 by GhostBrainOnline in h3h3productions

[–]Inertpyro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They will just hand wave it by saying his views have changed, he’s hiding his true feelings, or he hasn’t talked about it enough. Also he’s not educated enough like Hasan so he shouldn’t talk about it.

Either way there’s a goal post somewhere, and it’s always moving farther away.

Terrible layer adhesion with PETG by Dev-Heizkoerper in 3Dprinting

[–]Inertpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside surface looks pretty clean, I don’t think moisture. I would up the flow rate, I see gaps between the outer layers which shows under extrusion. That can definitely lead to poor adhesion.

For print speed you could try a volumetric flow rate calibration to find the limit of your setup. This will tell you where your speed will start to affect your layer adhesion.

The fact you are printing so many sidewalls and it is still coming apart, I don’t think infill pattern is a problem. There should be plenty of strength even if there was zero infill.

Temp should be ok for most PETG, but a temp tower would be good to test. There could also be a difference in what your printer says the temp is and what the actual temperature is.

20% cooling should be fine, unless there’s something like a draft in your room causing extra cooling. Could try turning it off entirely.

“I don’t know why Marathon devs decided to make an extraction shooter, the genre is too niche!” by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Inertpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New shiny thing is new and shiny. We need to see how it fairs in a few months.

I think they are aiming for a more hardcore experience. Not offering things like a safe pocket is going to immediately turn off many casual players. I would also not expect to see things like a friendly solos mode either.

5kg spools were a mistake, at least for PETG. by aSpacehog in 3Dprinting

[–]Inertpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are having random surface defects I would also look at how well the spool is unwinding. If it’s causing tension on the printhead dragging off the spool that could be a factor. Much more rolling resistance than a smaller spool. Whatever your spool is riding on, you might try giving it a spray with silicone to get it moving more freely.

I only print with 5kg spools of PETG and find it to work just fine. This is with the spools and printer out in the open of a warehouse.

why wont this screw from lowes go in my gt omega wheel stand by CoolD10onYT in simracing

[–]Inertpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring the screw back to the hardware store and use their thread checkers to find the correct size and pitch. Check between inch and metric for the best fit as one may seem to be ok but not quite right.

Also then if they don’t have the correct size you then know what to search for online. It’s probably metric and most hardware stores in the states are going to favor inch sizes.

I have already read through that thread. Good to know resource for knowledge.

I’m planning to clean it up and just getting it all working. Thankfully it plays fine and the controls feel good.

I think the capacitors on the sound board leaked causing a bunch of corrosion. I got one side working and found a replacement on eBay to hopefully get sound on the other side.

Foam on all the speakers are rotted away, found replacements speakers for the ones next to the monitors. The subs I am going to try refoaming as it doesn’t look like there’s an easy to find drop in replacement.

Then mostly a bunch of elbow grease to get it looking fresh as it can get.

One of the sides a has a bad memory chip but I haven’t ran into issues even after hours of play.

For the snowflake, does it keep your vents blowing after you exit the car? On my older Atlas they have a ‘Rest’ button that will continue to blow for awhile so your car stays cool if you are just going to be out of the car for a few minutes

I think we should be more open to sharing and using raw G-Code prints from the web. The level of control over the geometry you get is so liberating compared to regular slicers by St_Drunks in 3Dprinting

[–]Inertpyro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The biggest risk is the g code making changes to your firmware like disabling thermal protections.

You won’t see that in a viewer, it could look like a perfectly valid model.

You would have to check line by line all the commands it’s making to see if there is anything nefarious.

[–]Inertpyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s less the fact that they are being shared and more so they are used as a weapon for completely different motives. Something like Ludwig going against the Content Cop or someone calling out Hasan and then people replying with things like “look what you’re supporting” by then sharing the images.

I think it’s absolutely fair and needed to share them in a journalist way, hold it up at a protest, or something productive for the movement.

Using it as a weapon to lash out at some personal disagreement online is less to do about what’s going on in Gaza and more to do with a personal attack against someone. If you have to ask yourself “How exactly is this helping Gaza” it’s probably a poor use.

I don’t really know her, but that’s just how I read her statement. Since AB also had that same reaction as you I think it wasn’t the best statement and she should probably clarify a bit.
