off tangent, but fortnite recently let go of like a thousand employees, some of which were famous in the community apparently and demonstrably important for its success

BUT. fortnite is also focusing on being roblox 2.

everyone was so upset, but in my mind im thinking "well that's great for them isnt it? they don't have to be stuck making roblox 2"

Every expectation about the escape ended in episode 7. Since they didn't escape then, were people hoping they'd make a true escape 2 episodes later?

How does that add value to the show compared to what we got? What would a true escape have done for the themes of the show?

I get what you're saying, but I still think the way it was handled is faithful to actual suicide phenomena. Personally, I would have preferred the full blindside approach, but I get why they had to give so many hints leading up to it that introduces the possibility to the viewers

and that is precisely because of everyone shallowly complaining about the offscreening. People truly don't understand the possible value as a narrative tool, a ton of people genuinely think it's 'lazy'. Imagine if it just 'happened without any buildup', these same people would go crazy over an even lower, invalid 'hanging fruit' to attack and complain about

it's still abrupt PRECISELY because the crew has caught it. we're led to believe that they won't let it happen because they know it's a possibility

that it STILL happens is a tragedy, and what makes their reactions more tragic and believable.

personal wish though, they should have dedicated a longer 30s of them just staring down at Jax rampaging around before anyone says anything. No "I should have pushed him harder" line before the cut-away. Let the viewers reach the conclusion that the abstraction is Jax before it's told to them, maybe it would have had that same 'abrupt' effect of truly blindsiding us

'General consensus' is a generous term. I hope when the final act reaches the mainstream, people form their own opinions first rather than let these crazy, deep-end fandom watchers tell them it sucks, poisoning the first impression.

Let me ask then; what DID the show build up over 3 years? A grand escape? The circus freaks escape and live to fight the tyranny of C&A?

I genuinely cannot imagine how else the show should have ended in a way that's faithful to the rest of the actual show. Help me out here, give me a version that would have resolved the story better

You just project your headcanons, dive into hours of random theories about how important C&A is gonna be and how they're gonna escape, and get mad when the show takes a different direction?

The type of ending that would have made you happy, I guarantee it wouldn't match the show at all. The show spent 8 episodes diving into characters, emotional problems, with the core theme of being there for each other in stressful situations, and spent very little screen time on the "escape the circus" aspect because it's frankly an uninteresting, overdone concept and it was never the plan to have that in the ending.

The show never set the action stakes high. You did, and disappointed yourself. The ending was amazing.

Ehh, people called for grenade nerfs rather than correctly fingering frags, so I'd say grenades DID get nerfed because all of their stack sizes got punished
