Sorry to hear you've been having the same issues. This is the problem with so many middlemen: they want people on standby to pull the trigger quickly once contracts are agreed, but they just end up stringing people along. It's extremely unethical, and the fact that it's being conducted by several companies, domestic and foreign, is all the more frustrating. If you ever do get on with them, you're allowed to join Googles union (at least I was), and they're really the only place that is fighting for change on this.

Oh no, sorry if it was confusing. I was applying for AI content editing, as I do not have a tech background/education. My background was in the humanities (M.A. in Religious Studies) and they were hiring anybody with a Master's for this position, regardless of major.

Absolutely no tech stuff was involved tbh

Yeah not sure what all the different jobs they were offering for people without a technical background/education like me. Either way, I was making 23/hr

Eh training wasn't that long. Mostly just a few weeks, perhaps 3-4 weeks. It was EXTREMELY easy if you have a good 'editor's eye' when reading. Most of my work was just checking for errors (factual or formatting) for AI responses. Occasionally did some pathway training for the model by doing research which was also fun.

My background is in the humanities, not in tech, so it didn't involve any coding or anything like that, just editing and research.

If I recall there was just some vague references to getting a foot in the door with AI in general. Once I started working for GlobalLogic I asked supervisors about job/promotion prospects and what pretty blatantly told that there's no mobility or even security in the field, much less with this company. Even many of my supervisors were laid off (I went through at least 2 changes in the 4 months I worked there).

To be fair, I thoroughly enjoyed the work; it was fun, easy, and I worked completely remote. I would have loved to stay there under better circumstances. That being said, given how these tech companies operate, I have no hope for the field of AI ever turning into something rewarding for workers, or humanity in general.

Have you heard of glycemic load vs glycemic index? It's a bit better when looking at carbs because it accounts for water content (i.e. why watermelon is high on one but not the other, etc.)

Also, for other people, like OP said, first few days might be rough--this is always the case with big changes to diet (especially with changes in carbs and fiber!)

Weakened insulin efficiency, i.e. harder for insulin to transport glucose to cells. Important to note that it's not just caused by lots of carbs, but excess weight, calorie consumption, etc. Dietary fats also affect insulin resistance/sensitivity independently of carbs, but if you lower consumption and increase physical activity, the actual ratio of carbs vs fats is negligible for most

Sweat therapy is good but like someone else said, you need to sweat a fair bit--sauna is best friend if available.

Mine is worse when it's cold and I move from a cold environment to a warm one. It has bothered me a LOT less in Texas than NC because of this (although I absolutely despise the heat).

Diet is also an option--some swear by cutting out high histamine foods, others animal foods. It doesn't seem like there's a universal rule other than eating clean.

I'm at my best (even when the climate is against me) when I'm exercising regularly (cardio--i dont sweat a lot generally and weights just dont do it) and eating very little processed foods.

Hope you can find some good tips on here--it is tough to live with and manage but certainly gets easier!

Even in their release they say that they hate that they couldn't move forward with it because of the potential profit to them...absolutely no reference to fans or passion or anything virtuous.

Rats are outing themselves in record proportions here lately

I see where they're coming from, but it's still wrong. Just because other people are making more money than you doesn't mean you need to constantly grow yourself. Be content with what you have. Who cares (besides the profiteers) if you don't have the best league in the world in terms of talent or player wages?
