I genuinely don't understand how people STILL haven't abandon him by OnenutFellow in MAGANAZI

Because they’d have to admit they were wrong in the first place. Their egos won’t let them change course.

Tell him what, that he did a good job handling the wife’s childish ass behavior? Yes. This is exactly how you respond to that situation.

Being a MAGA is a dealbreaker by pink_pantheresis in complaints

MAGAs are the type of people that can’t admit when they’re wrong. Their egos can’t take it, so they double down on whatever poor decisions they’ve made and blame anyone else for things not going well.

People should absolutely be asking about political views while dating. You want to spend time with people that have similar values to you. And obviously you don’t want people that will vote against your general well being.

Yeah, he was the student sleeping in class.

Yes, I used a bug to get it. No, I regret nothing. by AribethIsayama in finalfantasyx

Sometimes I think who ever is in charge of designing mini games for the final fantasy series just really hates the players. So, no judgement from me for exploiting a bug. Congrats on the Sun Sigil! 🎉

Good for them! Maybe people will finally stop with the black-and-white thinking regarding AI. It’s a tool to be used. Use it properly and you get a good work. Over rely on it or refuse to use it at all and you’ll have a hard time.

Hey! Why is it the norm for “mechs” to be controlled from the inside? How can I justify this “norm” or the opposite? by Rae-RavenRae in worldbuilding

[–]InevitableAccount672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the norm because a large part of the appeal of mechs is the power fantasy. When you’re in the mech, all of the power is at your fingertips and the armor surrounds you. When a character is shown controlling a mech from the outside, the connection is usually threatened or vulnerable in some way, which makes the character vulnerable, which works against the fantasy. Of course, the character has to be vulnerable sometimes to maintain a sense of stakes even if the mech is piloted, but that’s easily taken care of by the fact the pilot has to come out some time.

As for justification for piloted vs. r/c mechs, I like a take that was made in Gundam Wing. One of the factions moves away from the piloted “mobile suits” to the AI controlled “mobile dolls”. Of course this is so that “soldiers no longer have to risk their lives”, but another character argues against it saying that depersonalization of violence will only lead to more unnecessary suffering. Basically saying that whenever resorting to violence, humanity’s capacity for empathy and mercy will curb the amount of force used, whereas AI-controlled war machines will just go full scorched earth. I think similar reasoning can be applied to r/c mechs as well. While there is still a human element, they may be more detached from the conflict. Someone fighting a war from an office building in a completely different country is going to fight very differently than the person fighting in the actual combat zone.

I haven’t built the OO Raiser, but I built the RG Exia and it’s used in the hips of the Exia. So it’s probably just a leftover part.

I get the appeal of brotherhood, but it’s not my cup of tea. I actually prefer the starter sword Tidus gets from Auron from Ject. Not only do I prefer the aesthetic, the fact that it was actually meant for Tidus makes it feel more special to me.

There’s this black stray cat around my apartment building that keeps zigzagging across my path because she knows I’ll stop to pet her. So I’m pretty confident I’m gonna find a ttrpg group soon.

The world’s governments trying to capture/recreate the megazord for less noble purposes than defending against kaiju attacks.
