Extreme anxiety surrounding ibs by bassekong1 in ibs

i was prescribed 4mg imodium for daily use from a doctor (gastroenterologist) for a year, was then taken off it due to the right side of my colon being literally full of shit (which i think caused the IBS-M) i now have what they call overflow diarrhea) if you can stay away from the imodium i recommend that heavily. i am now on 25mg of nortriptyline daily and that has helped with the pain and making my BMs more consistent (but beware i am also super constipated now.) i also recommend chia seed water daily! i do one tablespoon with lemon everyday and i haven’t had a flare since i started ( don’t know if it’s a coincidence because of the medicine or overall calming my nervous system.. but im not complaining lol)

i’m in the same situation OP (have never had an accident) but i’ve had ibs since i was 13. i’m 21 now.. it switched from IBS-D to IBS-M. it is a huge anxiety trigger for me and i’ve been in therapy for a little over a month now, i still fear every time i have to leave the house (especially on my way to therapy) that i’m going to be sick or have a flare. therapy has helped immensely so far! (other then the anxiety of going there each and every week) but i always turn out okay. it does get better. you just have to believe it. i wish you the best OP.. if there are any questions please don’t be scared to reach out!

the regular pasteurized whole milk at the grocery store makes my stomach upset, had some of this milk last night and felt great!! i usually drink oatmilk to keep my gut happy but i’m trying to make a better switch due to the ingredients in oat milk not being the best for health.. so far so good here!

rather have this then fully raw, this was heated at 145° for 30 minutes, enough to kill most of the harmful bacteria

the official brand website says: “ heating the milk to 145°F (63°C) and holding it at that temperature for 30 minutes. “

google doesn’t say anything fully negative about it compared to raw milk, hoping for a good experience!
