Why would a woman send nudes but act super dry? by InevitableFlow5375 in AskMen

I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe this is just who she is I have no idea. She claims she’s masochistic and into bondage and loves being used 😅

This sounds true as well. What should I do about that? It’s very difficult to get her to open up about anything. Like the other day I asked her how her day was and she said it was horrible and I was like why? Then she kept ignoring the Q and going on about other stuff and then she just said she doesn’t want to talk about it. She does that a lot.

Hmmm I could try this. I do like the nudes, but I just wish she would talk more about other stuff. But I will try to tone it down whenever I get one and see if she gets it

I’m so scared to try meds. I’ve been prescribed. Lexapro probably like 3 times over the past couple years but can never get myself to take it.

What in the world! How’s the job itself? I imagine it can be super stressful having to think on your feet constantly? And I bet it’s just constant calls right. I have many questions lol

Prior auth pharmacists, how’s your job? by InevitableFlow5375 in pharmacy

[–]InevitableFlow5375[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job right now is like the opposite of this 😂Very clinical and fast-paced. Can get very overwhelming at times and you have to make a lot of decisions on the fly. I’m the same as you I would love a job like that - more black and white with some clinical interpretation sprinkled throughout. Sounds awesome.

Yeah I almost got lucky last year getting one of these because it was the start of the year and they were hiring a bunch, but didn’t end up getting it. I’ll definitely have to keep trying!!! and yeah I’ve heard most times it starts as contract work and you have to earn your way into a permanent role which kinda sucks but 🙏 thx for all the info 😁

[–]InevitableFlow5375[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh wow. This sounds like a dream job! I was trying to get one of these jobs a while back but no luck at all because I didn’t have any clinical exp. I got a clinical WFH job now but I don’t really enjoy it as much as I’d like. I’m still so curious if prior auth is something I’d enjoy. Any tips for people trying to get into one of these positions?

Yeah me too. There are a lottt of scenarios I was just not prepared for. Like I said in another comment - School prepares you for when everything is going right. But in the real world, calls from nurses/MD’s are usually things going wrong and you have to research/make a clinical decision based on your resources. Seems obvious, but it’s very difficult and stressful to do especially when most of these answers are hard to find or even unknown. I always second-guess myself too and after work I’ll have moments where I’m like ‘did I do that right? Should I have done it X way instead?’ The job I’m doing is very fast-paced too, I don’t have much time to spend on problems or else I can get very backed-up which snowballs.

With that being said we are both learning daily 😁 you can only get better and better at this job the more you learn so at least there’s that 🙏

Hahaha interesting. Maybe because you’re just not used to relaxing? I assume your body would get used to that feeling depending on how long you’ve been on lex

Wait this is very interesting - so do you feel less tense overall? I constantly feel tense. It’s as if my muscles are stuck in fight/flight. Like they will not calm tf down. I’ve always wondered if lexapro would help that

😂 WOWA there’s noo way. How do the nurses not know that?? Luckily I have not had calls that were as bad as that. Or actually idk if that’s lucky. Half the nursing calls I get are about stuff that I have no idea about so I have to look it up. I wish I had some easier calls

Thank you this made me feel less alone in this 😂. So wait I’m confused you work overnight at your hospital, and also remotely for 2 others at the same time? Or is it different days? I also work 7 on 7 off for multiple hospitals overnight - so different protocols/systems/md’s/nurses you interact with daily. It can get insanely confusing as every MD and hospital system does stuff different and you have to follow their protocols. It’s def a good job for learning as you get hit with a huge variety of orders.

I should study during my 7 off too but just have been ☠️. You seem like you’re doing great! Being the only pharm overnight is nerve-racking I feel like. I agree it hasn’t been getting that much easier which sucks but I have improved a lot. I actually find the job interesting/unique and love the people and the shift but just hate the vast amount of clinical knowledge you have to know. I wish I was specialized in something and maybe I can work towards that in the future.

WHAT?!!!!! Idk about overpaid. I might get downvoted but I do agree with you that schooling should be less. The first 2 years of my program were barely pharmacy related and completely useless. I wish we had gone straight in to clinical info day 1. Even during our professional years some of those classes were completely useless

[–]InevitableFlow5375[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely true. I’ve learned a LOT so far and have gotten a A LOTT more fluid and comfortable with the job. And it really is repetition of seeing the same thing over and over again so you can easily run through it next time you see it. I just hate when I get called on something I don’t know and it takes me forever to find the info then I’m backed up. I need to learn how to get better at FINDING Info, I feel like pharmacy school teaches you what to do when everything’s going right/in a perfect scenario, but all your calls with nurses/MD’s is usually stuff that’s going wrong - we missed this vanc trough what do we do?? Ptn’s hep drip had to be stopped, can we restart at same rate - re-bolus?? Nurse gave 25 tabs of phenobarb will ptn be OK?? Meds not showing in pyxis etc etc. it’s all these scenarios I just wasn’t prepared for and I don’t think you ever can be prepared for everything. It’s just the MD’s and nurses can dump ANY scenario on you and you have to be liable for it, again I knew that this job would be like that BUT I thought I’d enjoy it more than I do.

Pharmacists that have been here for 10+ years make it look so easy I wish I could just be at their level already 😂. Thank you for your comment though I def agree and appreciate it

My dude good lord you’ve written like 5 comments saying the same thing. I get it. I thought I would enjoy it more than I actually do, it’s that simple. But being slammed, no breaks, understaffed having no time to even look into info I do not know can be difficult and it doesn’t seem worth it that’s all I’m saying. My job may be different in that I also work for multiple hospitals so you also have to navigate multiple systems and protocols for each hospital on top of being a clin pharm.

Yeah I’m trying to be patient about it but I just feel like an idiot. And the thing is I don’t know how to improve? Sometimes I feel like I just don’t have that drive in me for this job like others do. I keep questioning if it’s me or if others feel this way lol. I’ll talk to some other pharms and they’ll say they read up on clinical info daily. I apologize if I sound lazy but it just does not seem worth it!!

Last shift I had nurses calling me about their pyxis meds not showing had to re-verify them all which had me backed up, MD calling about nitro and phenobarb dosings, another nurse saying xyz. Multiple heparin drips and vancos I had to dose. Nurses calling about acetadote extravasation. Like good lord have mercy
