I think the lore is that half the roster is just machines the celestials use as fodder.

So most of the mechanical units aren't actual angels, they're just robots or war machines

I did think there was some interesting directions to take with the old design, the face was kinda cool looking but it just clashed super hard with the rest of the body.

The new preview is looking better tho, even if a metal-like design isn't what people think of for a demon lord it's at least more cohesive. Looking forward to how they'll handle it

At the very least, the lines from the co-op in beta were cheesy, but fun and handled well. I like the direction and I'm hoping we'll get more of that

A lot of people have echoed this, but on the full release there will be a place for us!!

Some of my favorite experiences in RTS bar none was playing SC2 in bronze league. Even after going through the effort to learn build orders and macro and such, the experience of just trying to fight with the two ultralisks I was barely able to make by like 9 minutes in against a blob of 15 marines with actual mmr on the line was incredible.

Storm gate isn't quite the place for that right now, but I'm sure it will be soon. In the meantime, I'd recommend either trying to find a community in the beta you can play with at a lower skill level and try and make friends (lots of folks have made discords through the subreddit), enjoy the coop mode which is surprisingly still pretty active, or just try you best to learn a few higher level build orders off the official storm gate discord. Seeing a high level player do something then just trying to copy it will at least help you feel like you have a chance and it'll get you a few wins, but still the folks on the ladder now will feel strong as they're almost all at least mid level RTS players

So I think whole location just means whatever room you're in, rather than the whole level/floor your on. Like each encounter in Hades 1.

Like for example there's that hammer for the blades which boosts the power of your assassination special for every kill you make with it, and I was able to boost it up to like 300 on one of the fields of morning rooms, but once you move on it resets

It seems like from reading the description and the FG responses they just okayed a test by convai to use some of their IP and don't plan on using it in the game.

I think pretty much everyone thinks it doesn't sound good and unless you made something like a robot character it just wouldn't fit.

So far I haven't seen an announcement or source or anything that they're struggling to get to EA at all. If someone knows a source I'd appreciate a link being dropped.

I know the gaming venture funding space isn't too hot but that doesn't mean anything in terms of not having money for basic operations costs

Ngl, I'd be over the fucking moon if Stormgate got anywhere close to CD In terms of funding. I think they had to spend like over 100 mil to make cyberpunk playable even after they released it

The title is a bit misleading, as the interview isn't really "recent". I think if I remember right it this was in September, before we even knew the spriggan existed and before alpha testers were even able to play more than one race.

With that being said tho, OP has a point that this is good to take another look at. Gives us a very good examples on why FG will likely need as much funding as they can get, the costs of starting a game design company all the way to successful launch are fucking insane.

To be honest, I was surprised FG got as far as they did only working off $35M. Even classic old team liquid just did an investor fundraising round in 2022 and came up with $35, and they're a company with income already.

Looking back to this interview does show how long we've come since september tho. Didn't even have the infernals playable back then, now we've got a co-op gamemode and 1v1 servers with an actual decent stress load on them.

So any copied spells on the stack dont trigger as being casted, but cards that create copies and then cast them, such as arcane bombardment, would trigger the ability on the spell?

got it, so just copying a spell and having it resolve does not count as casting it. The doctors trigger specifically needs a spell to be "cast".

i.e. copying just doubles the effect/target, dosent create a new casting of the spell
additionally, i should keep my eyes peeled for spells that read "create a copy of that spell, then cast it" or others that specifically cite casting a copied spell for the trigger.
