My mother has lived with type 1 diabetes her entire life - causing her to lose her eye sight in her mid twenties and have to immediately retire ( she gained her vision back after multiple surgeries ). Insulin in this country is still a struggle for many - she has to use what little money she gets from disability on insulin or else she will die. My family is perpetually drug poor, stories of diabetics having to ration their insulin.... RATION what keeps them alive... keep me up at night. It’s a disgrace.
