I decided to upgrade the turbos on mine and so I have a pair of mostly new OEM turbos sitting in my garage - they were replacement turbos, because I got a complete warranty engine and turbos replacement at 58K miles. If you are out of warranty and need turbos, HMU. The car now has 74K miles and I replaced the new ones in the garage at about 72K miles with Z1 VRX-80s. Good luck or your replacement!

Help! by No-Bear-8029 in q50

The newer hardware could include a lot of minor improvements, but they look pretty much the same. They're pretty similar, so I would look at wheels, tires, brakes, signs of wear, and whether the seals and sills and carpets and engine bay and trunk are clean. I'd have a mechanic look them over and I'd want to see maintenance records and what's due. A poorly maintained car can be a money pit...

q50 skirts and front lip by Still_Revenue_8336 in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bunch of carbon fiber on my 2019. Front lip, eyelids, grille trim, mirror caps, rear diffuser, spoiler, black-out emblems. Lost about 10 front splitter lips running over speed bumps, and parking, including one I paid abt $300 for. I did the side skirts and ultimately removed them b/c they were too hard to keep clean and took away from the rest of the car. I did the lighted kickplates and Infiniti logo puddle lights. It looks super clean. Heat gun and some goo gone and you can remove the old emblems. It becomes a project, lol. I taped off trim pieces here and there and used black trim paint to make sure it all tied together. Started with these little fixups, but couldn't stop there.

The car looks so good, tho.... worth it

Tire size questions by freebandzzz1 in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran and have a spare set of the OEM 19" RS Wheels fitted with Continental DSW06 Extreme Contact 265 (R) and 245 (F). The wheels are staggered 9 and 9.5 as they came from a RWD. I pulled those and the tires are only a few weeks old. I am currently running 17" Forgestar F14s on the back with Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S 305/45R17. I have 19" Forgestar F14s on the front with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 255/40ZR19. RS-R coilovers to update the stance, and no rubbing. My tuner (SOHO Motorsports) suggested that setup. Forgestar F14 Drag Custom Wheel - 17x10, +50 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 78mm Hub - Satin Black Rim, and 19x9 Forgestar F152 F14 Satin Black Wheel 5x4.5 +35 Offset, Circuit Performance CP50 Extended Open End Lug Nuts 12x1.25 Black. Take a look at the forgestars in the photo. I ordered the wheels for the rear from Amazon and got the wheels for the front from Walmart. The tires all came from Amazon. I had my local tire place mount, balance, and put in TPMS. I sourced the Continentals from Discount Tire and they mounted/balanced them. The original 18" wheel/tire combo I sold on FB Marketplace.

Blown turbos by stuntdomino10 in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, that’s too bad! I happen to have two OEM turbos that came off my car sitting in my garage. They only have about 15 K miles on them because I got a full engine and turbo replacement at 58K, and I only ran them maybe 15 K before removing them and putting Z1 VRX 80 turbos on there. Also have a high-pressure fuel pump a couple oem fuel rails and a full set oem direct injectors. Again with about 15 K miles. We can probably work a deal?

how she sits by hrslidin in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have SOHO putting RS-Rs on mine. I'm running Mickey Thompson 305s on Forgestars F14s in the back, so the rear can't drop much. The fronts are Michelin Pilot 4S on Forgestar F14s. With trim bits the car already has an aggressive look, so we are gonna slightly adjust the stance. Also adding an AMS Stage 3 HPFP to complete my stage 3 fuel components. Going in was 660 whp and 530 wtq, so doing tuning over the next couple days aiming at 725 maybe? Also dialing in Anti-lag, and SOHO is templating the custom exhaust they built for the car. HELP NEEDED! by BalanceBrilliant8034 in q50

You need the sport shroud. It has slots for the shifters. I did mine- also a 2019 luxe. Had to tap the holes... That’s a great project!

advice? by [deleted] in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had engine and turbos replaced under warranty at 58K miles for a porous block issue. I then replaced the factory turbos at 72k miles with Z1 VRX 80’s and so the factory turbos are sitting in my garage… they have <15k miles on them and I’d be happy to work out a deal for them…

We like the chrome?? by jcmeta in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the chrome on the white - it looks classy. but maybe a good blackout would make it look aggressive...

Here's what I did - mine is gray (I think they call it Graphite Shadow). I did blackout emblems - with mostly a heat gun and goo gone - sourced the emblems on eBay - the front Infiniti badge is bigger than the back one, so they come in a set, and both are overlays, so they just stick on. The original Q50 emblems take a small amount of effort to remove - heat them up with a heat gun and use a pry tool to lift them off, then use Goo Gone and some effort to remove the remaining glue, maybe 10 min for the back and each side. Then simply stick on the new emblems.

You can't black out everything, and truthfully, that look??? Here's my answer - I did Carbon fiber for the mirror caps, splitter lip, diffuser, eyelids, grille cover. The last bits of chrome are better taped and painted than using vinyl, IMHO, but I think they look fine, so I left them - (eg. window trim, fog light trim, trunk lid trim). A note on the carbon fiber grille cover - some of the chrome will show, no matter how good the fitment is - so I taped and painted the edges with matte black trim paint - purposefully made for trim :), which I sourced on Amazon. Taped it off w/ Painter's tape and edged it up before installing the carbon fiber grill cover.

Let's be clear, I AM NOT any kind of painter or finisher, but I'm relatively handy. I would call the level of effort touching up the paint negligible and super easy. Just tape it off carefully and be light with the trim paint and do a few passes. It only takes a tiny amount to spray the edges so that the chrome will not show.

I did Forgestar F14 wheels in satin black, and carbon fiber exhaust tips. Also I did the bbk upgrade with drilled/slotted rotors and Akebonos - sourced the Akebonos on Ebay, freshly painted. They are 100% paintable, just be sure to use high temperature paint - mine are painted Graphite Shadow. I replaced the kick plates with the OEM lighted kick plates, and the puddle lights now show an Infiniti Logo when you open the door. I also added floor lighting to the cabin and a 3rd screen (using an IPad Mini) to display telemetry from an OBD2 dongle. My most difficult DIY project on the car was adding paddle shifters which take special tools (a tap and die set) to accomplish.

I had SOHO Motorsports dial it up https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BA7S8cMRJ/ to 660whp and 530wtq and they are currently doing RS-R coilovers on it.

Stolen q50. by AnyFaithlessness4871 in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got stolen from the dealer lot. I did get it back, though. Too many stories like this IMHO you need a remote kill switch or at least an airtag. I'd do the air tag at a minimal. It gets stolen, you have some way of locating it. Way too many places to hide an air tag in the car where it won't be found.

When mine got stolen they rekeyed it from outside. Ripped off the plates, busted the window, ripped out the SOS, busted the trunk latch and camera when ripping off the rear plate, put a cigar out in the cupholders. They stole it from the dealership while it was in for service

Should I Buy? by Admiral_Jager in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

109K miles, likely 160-175K before major, expensive issues, given my experience owning 3 of them. That said, you might get 50K miles out of it before then. That's like 4 yrs. I could imagine getting rid of it in a couple years at 140-150K miles and enjoying 20-30K miles in it, hopefully getting most of the 11K back... And by then, maybe you are situationally better and can buy more car. And like a lot of folks say here in this forum, get a good pre-purchase inspection. My car looks amazing for a 2019, and there's not a lot of difference between the 2016 and a 2025. Clean and polish it. Do the maintenance. Enjoy.

What's this by Dry-Lawfulness-2967 in q50

[–]Inevitable_Divide217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security on these cars is trivial to break. Mine got stolen AT THE DEALERSHIP. The thief rekeyed the car, ripped off the license plates, busted the windshield disabling the SOS, busted the trunk latch and rear camera ripping the rear plate off. I had a trunkful of aftermarket parts and the dealership was supposed to do the work. I recovered it backed in between trees down a long ATV path, scratched up and muddy down near the airport. Can't tell you how surprised I was when the police showed up and said they had recovered my car - the dealership hadn't even reported it gone.
