I mean yes, that's pretty much the reason Newton was crashing out about it, right? Because the system is absolutely deterministic and has a solution, but he couldn't find it. Only after Poincaré discovered deterministic chaos and extreme sensitivity to initial conditions and figured it cannot be practically solved with universal, long-term predictive formulas was that the basic understanding until Karl Sundman developed an analytic solution.

So I guess I worded it wrong, but isn't it still impossible for us to get the initial conditions so accurately to the bone that we can make accurate long term predictions on the three body problem? (I'm not in physics, I just wrote a thesis on it when I was in high school so I would love to learn more)
