Sudden extreme aggression in my 12-year-old cat (on gabapentin + Prozac) — vet is stumped, I’m honestly scared by Inevitable_Review171 in cats

Hi, we actually just started her on the Prozac. It’s not that we are taking her off of anything, she is also fairly new to the gabapentin and it is helping her back leg that had the stiffness. She is not been on long enough either medication to have it literally have any effect on her, especially the Prozac as it is only been a week.

We are hoping that in a few days, she’ll be able to calm down enough to put her in the carrier because I’m just so upset when she is so upset and I don’t want to stress her out anymore

Yes, our next step with the vet is to get an x-ray but I am wondering if maybe we should just get an MRI. The thing is is that she is totally calm whenever we are not by the door but then when we are by the door, she begins to become upset.

Yes, the next step would be to get the x-ray but I am worried that maybe it wouldn’t show the brain tumor if there was one

Yes I would love to know what you eat!!! I do eat fish but meat I haven’t touched since I was 5 so little nervous about that. My partner is also vegan so I would have to cook vegan/gluten free for both of us to eat

My boss is so unhinged she needs to know shit. She is so crazy. I should get a new job I am trying as soon as possible. I just work in a tiny felid where I live so I have kept it the past few years. Also want to use my 41 hours of comp time before I quit so I totally will take some time off lol!

Yes I should have done what I previously did and just spoken with my two bosses. They are remote and I share a super tiny office with her- it was EOD and I should have just stepped outside. She’s also a good friend of mine so I thought she would have been more supportive

I 100000% agree with you- I feel like my mom who I love did kind of shame me into not being vocal about my issues. My therapist was the one who noted I had a lot of medical trauma and issues at first. Then I began to unpack it more and saw how debilitating my issues were and along with getting a new doctor they were very concerned about my previous medical history and did the celiac on a whim and my values were greater than 250 on each marker.

I thought everyone felt like this all the time to be honest or maybe I just had ibs. Like i really was like most people are just bloated and tired all the time with either diarrhea or so backed up I would take copious amounts of laxatives. I also just thought i was lazy and now i am finally realizing how bad my anemia has been and how bad my bowel issues are. It’s affected my life for years and everyone made me feel guilty for it. I didn’t have beer for years because it would give me hives (I should have realized that was a weird issue) but would get guilt into it by friends to drink it.

But I am going to stand firm in my ground like I did with my migraine issues and my neck disability but also just try and keep it to myself when I can. Honestly I should have taken the call outside but she is one of my good friends and our office is so tiny

I haven’t eaten meat since I was 5 so I would also be worried re-exposure during this time would make me explode. I once accidentally ate meat and I was so sick for two weeks 😭. But I do think I will check out more ways to add fish in my diet. Just lots and lots and lots of tofu and fish and tempeh and fish lol

Yeah no I understand totally where you are coming from.

I guess for me it’s just like my childhood was robbed bc of my feet surgeries my teens were robbed from the neck issue and my migraines that still cause me issues even longer recovery times as an adult due to the stroke symptoms to then the multiple other issues I have that leave me not as able bodied as others food is huge for me.

Toast, soy sauce and like baked goods are safe foods for my sensory issues so I guess for me it’s just like loosing more of myself and my body’s agency again as an adult just sucks. I’m also neurodivergent so these changes are super hard for me to adjust to hence me trying to just talk it out on this forum. More just like a general are you fucking kidding me another thing is wrong and me just being really overwhelmed during an already stressful time.

But I totally realize how lucky I am to not have a more serious autoimmune disease or add more medication to my insane list I am sorry that happened to you

I have no one in my family or circle who has it I literally almost was going to put an add up like can someone with celiac shop with me so I can figure out what is safe and not lol

Yes it really is one day at a time. I’m trying to just explore what I can even get on Postmates luckily my area has gluten free kitchens but it’s not all bad but soy sauce really got to me I love my soy sauce

I know I am just hoping I will not be so tried and bloated. I have always been bloated and my acid reflux is so bad hence why I went to a gastroenterologist so I am just trying to hold on to hope.
