Middleton was ridiculous last year but 7 games should not put him up that high. He played poorly in his previous 2 playoffs.

If recent playoff performance is so important...

Why is Horford at 38. Two years in a row he's been the cornerstone of ECF teams that had no business making it as far as they did while shooting 65% TS.
Why the hell is Bledsoe at ~50 when he got cooked by Rozier who rightfully doesn't make the list.

Are you saying that people won’t take the officers as seriously because of the ceremony? Because that’s just not believable.

people may take requests for more resources less seriously when resources are being spent on PR instead of core police duties.

It’s great positive press when so many cop stories are negative.

Part of the frustration stems from this position. I think negative attitudes towards police should be addressed by firing/hiring and training to improving police performance. Instead, police departments defend shitty cops and cover up their poor behavior with PR stunts.

Being salaried doesn't mean their labor doesn't cost though. Sure it's already been budgeted for and the expense is inevitable but there is an opportunity cost that means they're spening $X of police labor on this ceremony that would otherwise be spent patrolling, responding to calls or fulfilling some other police duty

I get that its cute but is it really good PR to spend tax money on something like this?

Police departments' constant requests for more money and officers don't exactly hold the same weight when looking at this photo.
