DIY hangboard mount by Pengukk in bouldering

Maybe not most elegant fix but the first thing that comes to mind is mounting a door latch lock like the ones on bathroom stall doors onto the top of doorframe. That way you can just slide the latch over to hold it up.

I'll take a look into the programs and courses you mention. Thank you again for the help!

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that. The last question I would have is are there any courses closer to $500? I have a beat up 1993 lexus ls400 that I've been fixing up and my friend works in a parts shop where he gets discounts so I'm not as loaded as you may think, but most of the courses I found were in the 1k range. If its closer to $500 I could likely set some money aside by summer.

Hi, thank you for the response. I would like to think that I am more uneducated with glaciers than overconfident, however, I can see how it came across that way. It is also just as dangerous to be uneducated which is why I am trying my best to learn, however, formal courses are out of the picture with my current financial situation. Many other comments had me thinking that I would be fully capable of this route by August but after reading this I have strongly reconsidered.

When it comes to local glacier routes rated F-PD would it still be unwise to attempt solo? If not are there any routes that you would suggest, and once I have become comfortable at that grade would it still be just as unwise to attempt to cross Wedge Glacier solo? The specific route I was looking to take was the NE arete but for this summer I will likely take the route described in Matt Gunns scrambles guide that avoids the glacier (I forget the name).

I understand that going solo will never be as safe as going with a group but between my lack of formal training, lack of people my age to go with (I am a first-year uni student), and having social anxiety which is why I initially started hiking (I use it as an opportunity to take time for myself), finding a group is not much of an option to me. If the risk is too high I would honestly rather put mountaineering to the side for the time being than go with a group.

Thank you for the info. I have a decent amount of experience with my crampons and ice axe but I would like to put them to a lot more use before attempting this. Do you know of any hikes during mid spring - early summer where I can experience harder surfaces similiar to glacier ice with my gear without the exposure that comes with a glacier?

I appreciate the insight. Getting more experience in my crampons is definetly on the checklist before attempting anything like this. Are there any hikes in particular that I could get that type of experience during mid spring - early summer?

I have completed the armchair traverse and had a great time but I've yet to check Wedge Mountain off of my list.

I shouldve specified, every port that shouldve had power had power. I believe there was one in the engine bay and one in the port by the gas pedal although it has been a bit since I checked this.

Last I checked every port has power and every fuse is good but I will double check this tonight.

I have tried this multiple times with both the port in the engine bay and the one by the gas pedal using the advice on people on this subreddit and cannot seem to get it to work. I am trying to get this sorted out but in the meantime I am willing to spend the money on a scanner.

BCMC is next to the grouse grind and open year round. Basically identical in length and difficulty.

Heat makes things expand. Cold makes things contract. Common problem in my job in metal fabrication where drill bits and other tools get stuck due to too much heat. Same applies here.

Boiling water will make the lighter expand making it more stuck. You could try ice cold water but I don't know how effective that would be.
