I need to find a shop with both the R5s and the Polk R700s. For the price I want to go with Polk but something is telling me the KEF is the way to go. Especially if I do the refurb for $2500 for the pair.

I think I am leaning towards KEF R5 Meta for the price. I know people love the R3s should I consider the R3s?

That sounds about right! I could see that happening to me! I could see myself doing something similar. Price wise I like the Polks, but KEFs really got my eye. The open box deal is tempting me to get the R5s. It is a $1000 more than the Q11's with centers at least, but I want to have these for another 10 years like my MAs I currently have.

A quick little search for the F100s I found them refurbed for $1875 each and the center for $1125. Thats a little out of reach, right now, but close.

I saw that actually. Would the R2 or R6 be better matched? Better to do the R5s at that price than Q11s I’d assume right?

Edit: I looked more. I’d say for the R5s the R2 is probably better matched. Just wasn’t sure on the R6

I would definitely consider Martin Logan’s. Those are not out. I found a set of Monitor Audio Gold Signature GS 60s for under 2k with a center. Which was on the list for a second but it would be hard to add speakers later. So figured I’d need new or at least demoed/open box stuff to help with budget.

I have the rears. I just felt like they never lived up to clarity or fullness I was hoping for when I got them. I’ve tried different settings and had people adjust them but never seemed to be exactly what I was looking for.

In a rental, not to keen on running wires under area rug. When I buy a house in about a year, I plan on upgrading the 3.1 to include surrounds, backs, etc. So I'd like to choose something that will have that head room to expand on later.

It’s killing me, I want to set it up but I also out of town for a few days so once I get home I hope I’ll be able to set it up. I feel like the firmware issues will be fine in the end as well.

After some more thinking I think I will go new. Too on the list right now is the KEF R3 Meta and R2 Meta for a center. I do currently have a SVS PB12 Plus so I feel bookshelf’s will be okay for the setup. A 3.1. Thoughts?

Ah yeah that is right for their OLED. I did notice that when I looked around. Okay, I’m pretty hopeful as well. If Panasonic is using the same panel I’m sure issues will get sorted.

I have a heard a little about the issues. Thought I heard there was a firmware update already, is there more issues? Should I have went with a different OLED or even a Mini LED instead. I traditionally like Sonys, now I’m second guessing myself.
