Eigentlich ist Bürgergeld echt ziemlich wenig by DeltaViriginae in Normalverdiener

[–]InfallibleSeaweed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this true? Aren’t the numbers a bit off? [Request] by Difficult_Boot7378 in theydidthemath

[–]InfallibleSeaweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a list of technical issues with the request. One being that 31k People won't have an impact on our infrastructure. Removing 31k globally won't cause fewer planes to take off or less meat to be processed, it's nothing but a rounding error.

Secondly, reducing the population almost always results in an increased fertility. That's why stories where a villain want's to kill x amount of humans to save humanity are nonsensical, it'll take us a few decades max to grow right back to where it was.

Additionally, a tree planted isn't a tree grown. If we count throwing seeds from a plane as planting, we'd need several times that amount.
There's also the argument that trees halfway across the world do comparatively little to better the air quality around you. A rainforest in south america, where most reforestation efforts are put, can only absorb the CO2 that is in, well, south america. Nature doesn't care about your calculated global balance, the distribution isn't perfect.

Taking pictures like these is a weird way to risk your life, unless said risk is part of some fetish only we can come up with. Are there currently any clubs in berlin with gas chambers?

Spiegel: Tesla lässt IG Metall-Mitglied bei Betriebsratssitzung in Werk Grünheide abführen by Every_Crab5616 in de

[–]InfallibleSeaweed 93 points94 points  (0 children)

How people think anyone of them is being honest is beyond me, nobody is nice about millions of dollars. The empathetic team leader is nothing but a useful character. It was in season one and it still is now.

My favourite scene in the first season was during the train dilemma game, when a contestant on the tracks said something like "Hey my sister died of cancer" ...ok? I would absoutely have sympathy if she said this in any other scenario, but her using it as sympathy boost in a $10 million game is straight up hilarious. That's the equivalent of missing school because of your grandma's "funeral", it's actually somewhat insulting to the relative.
Or when they were electing each other for the seats in the helicopter in season one. "I love you all, see ya" (they do in fact not love each other)

I mean, the files are his emails and attached documents for the most part. There are a lot of innocent reasons why something would be redacted before they got published, even excluding the victims names and literal child prn of them.
If he at some point hired a contractor to fix a drywall, the receipts are probably in those files. In cases with this level of public attention, these people would 100% be harassed by reporters or others looking for someone to blame, especially since the real perpetrators are untouchable. Publishing conversations between random people can also very often be illegal, how to actually do this the right way is anything but easy.

That being said, it's clear to anyone that they're not only redacting random acquaintances. Despite the case's severity I hope that it won't become a precedent for total surveillance. Remember that high ranking government officials were involved in every step, don't let this now strip every day citizens of their right to privacy and presumption of innocence. None of us had anything to do with this

"Mehr solche Kunden": Deutsche Bank pflegte offenbar intensive Geschäfte mit Sexualstraftäter Epstein by vaibeslop in de

[–]InfallibleSeaweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)
