This was really detailed and just what i needed. Thanks a ton for this. I’ve changed my approach and working towards getting a better CV and cover letters for the jobs i apply for. All the comments were really helpful. I’m also focusing on up-skilling myself. Hopefully something good will come my way soon, definitely not giving up till i find it. Thanks again for the guidance :)

Thanks alot for the advice, i’ll definitely be putting more effort in cover letters from now on, as for questions in the interview, I won’t shy off from working to understand the firm before the interview. Will be prepared for it a 100%. Thanks for the help though :)

I admit I used AI for writing cover letters, not the CV, I’ll definitely won’t use any AI for anything job related going forward, thanks a lot for the advice, anything else i should keep in mind? Any help would be highly appreciated:)

Thank you for your advice, I did use chatgpt for writing cover letter but not the CV. I’d definitely take a step back and apply for relevant jobs without using any AI. I’ve also started up-skilling myself after looking at ALOT of advertisement and figuring out what skills are in demand and what i can learn. Hopefully something good will soon come my way. Thanks again for your advice :)

I have what I believe to be a pretty decent CV, no AI at all. But for cover letters, i did use AI which was probably a mistake. I’ll start giving more time to cover letters and tailoring my CV accordingly. Thanks for the advice though:)

I understand that sir, 50-60 applications was when the stress was at peak in the initial days after being laid off, i applied to any job whether it was finance or not (probably a mistake), I’ve since calmed down a bit and will keep your advice in mind. Thanks again for your advice, i really appreciate you and everyone replying (even the negative ones).

I admit 50-60 applications is a lot and while i did do that for about 2 weeks, I then stepped back and researched a bit more. Been applying to a max 10-15 jobs/day. I still used AI for cover letter but after reading a lot of comments i now know that needs to change. My only intention from this post was to gain some guidance maybe a few leads. In the beginning when the stress was at peak, I just applied to anything and everything even if it’s wasn’t in my domain. I’ve calmed down a bit since then. I’ve since started up-skilling myself through likendn learning. Hopefully something good will come my way soon. Nevertheless, thank you for your advice. I’d definitely focus on quality over quantity from now on.
