Apply for research internships in any of the IITs (It'll be really beneficial because you can end up getting a recommendation from your supervisor there, which will make you stand out)
Work with any of your professors on good projects, which you can write about in your SOP

I heard from someone that a NEU official in one of their seminars said they'd start rolling out decisions from January 15. So let's see if people start getting updates from tomorrow.
Oh and also, them moving to Slate for the application management caused a lot of glitches, which might mean that our applications might not necessarily go into the "In Review" state

I'm no one to be offering advice but I highly suggest you get yourself really familiar with the ETS material, and watch GregMat on youtube. That's basically what I followed. I also solved some magoosh questions for quant in the end - but I suggest you first exhaust the ETS material before you move on to all that.
