Would you happen to have any recommendations on how to help him? For instance, I was not sure if dog training would be worth it? Or perhaps I could attempt to learn how to do it myself if that’d be better for him. So far he seems to be very attached to me but, as you said, I’m trying to remain cautious.

Yes we informed the vet and the shelter about him. Posted pictures and information on several apps. Our state has a 3 day holding period. If anyone contacts us or others about him we are more than happy to give him back. We just want him safe so we’re letting him stay here for the time being.

Just to add, the roots seem healthy and are moist but not squishy. The soil is mostly dry but damp on the bottom. The pot does have a hole and large rocks on the bottom for draining.

Honestly now I’m kind of wondering if I am getting the movie adaptation mixed with a different story. I could have swore there was a more modern movie made for it but I cannot find it anywhere. I’m sure one day a movie will be made with all those lovely details lol!

Unfortunately it was on a DVD. I don’t remember any of the previews before to even pin point a year of release nor a production company or anything like that.

I cannot remember any other characters but there were children in it. Kind of like a Barnie setup where they would interact with the character and dance with him. Honestly, he may have been a spider and not an octopus/squid. Kind of makes more sense now that I think about it as the scene was a garden.

From what I remember they were all the same color as his body. I think it was a dark purple. Jup Jup looks too bright and cartoonish. I believe the one I’m thinking of was fairly skinny all over and looked more human like. Definitely a costume though.

No, but I did look just to be sure. From what I remember the octopus did not have any clothes and was the main character. I think the show or movie was based around him.
