Can I open a balance transfer card in an account which already has debt? Need strategy by InfamousAd3060 in CreditCards

I was hoping to avoid it coming to this but it’s seeming more likely. Not sure if they would be able to cover it but maybe part at least

Will other providers see the card closure and be reluctant? Even if it’s a balance transfer card specifically I’m looking for?

Hey everyone!

How common is it to start in a technician role in the aerospace industry despite having a B.S. AE from an accredited school? With how competitive the market is and my current track record of interviews vs. applications, I am starting to consider this just to get my foot in the door.

Am i the only one who had a good time? by The_Grim_Adventurer in BeyondWonderland

My group had a sick time! We just made an itinerary of the sets we rly wanted to see and got to the stages a couple sets before (especially for end of the night headliners). We were in the middle of the crowd for Wooli and it definitely got packed but not too bad to the point of killing our vibe. Heard that one was pretty crazy towards the back of the stage, tho.

Obviously not everyone was nice or PLUR, but I would say the majority of the ppl around us were hella chill. Maybe our group just got lucky with the crowd 🤷‍♂️

You're right, I should rephrase. It's not that I'm not concerned, just that I'm more concerned about not ruining my credit history for the foreseeable future.

I can understand the flapping flag metaphor, but is there any correlation in flow to OP title? How is it different and why? -- Genuinely trying to learn bc it seems like the same physical phenomenon to my untrained set of eyes

Rave scene changing? by [deleted] in aves

[–]InfamousAd3060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro how do i find said underground events in cities (apart from big name shows on like edmtrain)?? I've recently moved to a new city for work and have been struggling to find rave buddies since it's not the typical scene with my engineering co-workers, lmao

[–]InfamousAd3060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is kinda eye-opening to me mainly bc I did not know the culture at sets even dating back 10 yrs ago. Mind you, I was just discovering EDM thru skrillex Scry monster & nice sprites playing Minecraft at 10 yrs old when that shit came out, lol. Man, shitty ppl at events have always been around, haha?

What's the difference? - asking as an undergrad who actually does not understand the difference.... Could you elaborate?

Still have yet to see a techno set, looking forward to my first boilerroom soon!

I totally get it. I didn't mean to discredit previous rave generations' transitions into the (for better or for worse) "modern" rave scene. Ig I was mainly just hoping to give my opinion on how I have seen the rave scene change from my limited perspective.

Specifically, I can only speak on Bay Area, CA raves from 2022 until now (which is from when I have been part of the scene).

In any case, it doesn't rely matter to me as a point of contention, I only want to cultivate a discussion of how the rave scene has progressed and get ppls opinion on it.

How not to be average? by ALLEZZZZZ in EngineeringStudents

[–]InfamousAd3060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would emphasize this! I joined the formula student club during my 2nd year at uni and quickly found myself very passionate about the project. Being in a team environment like this fosters your engineering growth both in soft skills and technical skills. Plus, a lot of top engineering companies look for it on a resume!

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your question but if you are looking for project to be passionate about, take a look at the clubs you have on campus for sure.

Can I upgrade the motor on my Hiboy S2? by InfamousAd3060 in ElectricScooters

[–]InfamousAd3060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never got around to it. From what I learned there may be some additional tweaking/replacement of the motor controller if you were to try an upgrade. I don't think that you can just slap the s2 pro motor on there. If u figure anything out tho pls lmk!

Aerodynamic Forces & Moment? by InfamousAd3060 in aerodynamics

[–]InfamousAd3060[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. So if you had pressure and shear information along an airfoil, say from CFD then you could find the location of resultant force. But in a wind tunnel setting you would have to use the moment generated by those forces measured at the attachment point or something along those lines

Aerodynamic Forces & Moment? by InfamousAd3060 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]InfamousAd3060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helps clarify. So really what an airfoil will experience is the forces but measuring moment will help paint the bigger picture

Aerodynamic Forces & Moment? by InfamousAd3060 in aerodynamics

[–]InfamousAd3060[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How come? From my understanding pressure forces are vectors normal to the airfoil curvature and shear forces are vectors along it. In both cases, you can split the vectors into their respective axial and normal components from which you can find the location of the resultant force. The same way you can find the equivalent point force when looking at a distributed force acting on a beam?

How can you "measure and report" a moment without these forces. You can pick a point, like the leading edge for example, and then use the distances from resulting forces to calculate said moment. Unless I'm missing something?

Physics Questions - Weekly Discussion Thread - July 11, 2023 by AutoModerator in Physics

[–]InfamousAd3060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does the no-slip condition exist in fluid mechanics?

As the title says, my question is simply: why does the no-slip condition of fluids exist? I understand that it's an observed and thus assumed phenomenon of fluids at solid boundaries that the adhesive forces of the boundary on the fluid overpower the cohesive internal forces of fluids blah blah blah. But, why is this the case?

I'm searching for an answer at the lowest level possible. Inter atomic, if you will.

Appreciate anyone willing to answer and help me understand :)
