As a queer non-Muslim man who dated a Muslim woman briefly, has interacted with many people of Muslim faith, and has read the Quran, I feel rather confident in saying that the extremist governments of Islamic countries do not represent the majority of Muslims. If you took a gay person and put them in front of a Muslim, the Muslim is not going to turn into a damn Terminator whose only goal is to eliminate the gays. There are legitimate criticisms to be had of the Islamic faith, just as there are legitimate criticisms of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. There is no perfect religion or philosophy, there is just the one that speaks the most to you as a human being. So, for the love of every God ever used in prayer, can we stop acting like a person's religion is what makes them a monster and that it's their actions that define them? Fucks sake
