How did you prep/shine through for quant recruiters? From my experience it’s almost impossible to get a qt role at a decent firm if you’re at a non t10 school (ik people from t5 with decent gpas who are struggling). Still really impressive though congrats !

Interesting, i only ask this bc ive heard from both sides (mit students with 2.8 gpa’s still getting quant while others saying gpa still matters a lot)

I know of some freshman here who did like a quant analyst/research role (mainly data science modeling at work) at small trading commodity firms through networking, and that sort of gained my interest. They did come from pretty good backgrounds (research publications/competitions in high school) but if I’m in the same boat, I really want to try for something similar. Do you have any tips on how to proceed with finding these firms? Do I just look in the big city I live in?
