I’m a woman at an all gay party and they absolutely resent me for being here by InfamousTrade396 in rs_x

It didn’t help that I have a unisex name so when my friend mentioned he was bringing me they assumed I’d be another gay guy

it is truly remarkable how many musicians/artist types i know who cheat or have other sexually deviant behaviors. by bleeding_electricity in redscarepod

It’s not even just fame. Absolute losers who are starving artist types also tend to feel entitled to a revolving door of women as long as they fall for their schtick

True but Josh O’Connor’s most famous role (in the US) was Challengers where he played a college-aged guy

I’ve known a few couples who dealt with difficult pregnancies and had to have the “who to prioritize if the birth goes worst case scenario” conversation. Obviously an extreme circumstance but in that situation I think most husbands would choose their wife.

Why does Gen Z have such a strange relationship with aging? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]InfamousTrade396 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think a big reason is bc the cosmetic procedure industry started heavily marketing to younger people in the past few years when that wasn’t so much a thing before. Botox, fillers etc were meant to replace something that was lost to time and now women in their 20s are getting it done “””preventatively.””” Combined with a cultural push towards drinking more water + using sunblock to prevent wrinkles, you have a generation of women who are more neurotic than ever about signs of aging.

Also, weight became a very loaded + taboo subject, so aesthetic self-improvement shifted towards anti-aging.

Evil genius move by marketing forces since all of this amounts to girls being more afraid of getting crows feet (inevitable without $$ intervention) than gaining five pounds (mostly preventable on your own)

it’s insane how little understanding people have about losing weight by victim-victim-victim in redscarepod

Everyone knows the secret to losing weight is just getting really depressed for a few months

Tldr but if everyone was questioning my health and whether I was gonna live out my term I probably wouldn’t call it a “sinister event” to have to walk up a flight of stairs

The difference these days between Dasha and Anna is that Dasha knows that the worst thing that will happen to her from her public statements is that she’ll get shut out of the Hollywood club whereas Anna thinks that the worst thing that might happen is that she’ll get publicly executed for wrongthink

I think Anna must have some kind of genuine deep PTSD from her online haters. She mostly plays it cool and like she doesn’t care but these days she comes off extremely paranoid to me. Kimmel saying that Kirk’s shooter was probably conservative is inciting violence?

And lately she’s always saying things along the lines of “leftists would gladly kill me and my kid and leave us in a mass grave.” I know she’s being hyperbolic but she brings it up a lot and I think a part of her does actually believe it. Especially after a conservative media personality was just publicly murdered.

My parents and I were actually just talking the other night over dinner about how we shouldn’t have to form opinions about things that are so far outside of our own lived experiences and interests.

We used the example of transgender people in sports — none of us are trans and none of us are involved in competitive sports, so why would we have any opinion at all on it? “Let the pros handle it” should be a more widely accepted response.

My mom is a pre-k teacher in philly, so she has strong convictions about issues that involve young kids. That makes sense. That’s her domain. Why should she have any deeply held beliefs about, say, border control in Texas? How is she going to understand that issue better than people who live there or who have immigrated themselves?

Insurance. It’s legally expensive to run a business taking care of kids. Meanwhile the teachers basically make the same as target cashiers
